Rating: Summary: I loved this picture book. Review: This book is primarily a picture book with short decriptions that gives a fascinating look at the world's most famous theme park before it was a park. It's filled with black and white photos of Walt Disney's Disneyland in Anaheim, CA. as it was being constructed along with a few after its opening. The photographer, Mel Kirkpatrick, was given unfettered access through the entire construction of the park and he captured some amazing and unique photos. You'll see Disneyland go from orange tress and mounds of dirt being moved around, right through various stages of construction for some of the famous landmarks such as Sleeping Beauty's Castle and Main Street USA. Some superb aerial shots are included. The captions for the pictures are short and informative with one or two errors, which unless you're a true Disneyland buff you won't notice. For anyone who has ever been to Disneyland and felt the "magic", this is great look into how that magic was constructed.
