Review: If you are a lover of cockatoo, macaw and amazon, the line-drawings of these birds will take your breath away. When I first opened the book, I gasped! Ms. Butterworth has captured the essence of their character, even more so than a photograph. The line-drawings in this book deserve to be framed and showcased in a prominent position in your home. I bought 3 books. I framed pictures from the first, and kept the second for reference, and gave the third book as a gift to Dr. Bernadette Plair who is with the Cincinnati Zoo. Dr. Plair recently (March 2000), successfully reintroduced the blue and gold macaw back into the wild in Trinidad.

It's a truly magnificently produced book with Elizabeth Butterworth's beautiful artistic drawings that are just so realistic. You could actually frame many of these drawings, they are that good. There's a wonderful introduction about all these parrots by Elizabeth that is inspirational. If you're a lover of birds, or have companion parrots yourself, don't miss this book.
