Rating: Summary: This book is a must-have if you like B&W-photography Review: I enjoyed (almost) every page. Not only are the introductions to each decade very funny to read - time also "passes like rain" when walking through the large collection of pictures. Jeanloup writes that he felt sad when choosing the pictures for this book - sad, that he can't turn back time. And you will feel sad too. You will feel sad not te be able to turn back time. You will feel sad not to be able to have been there and take the pictures yourself. This book is the cheapest kind of time-travel you can by - open the book and travel back to more peaceful times. Get old again and enjoy how the artists way of taking pictures changes.
Rating: Summary: This book is a must-have if you like B&W-photography Review: I have a passion for great photography, and a large collection of photographic monographs. This book is dominating my attention at this time. Sieff is preeminantly a fashion photographer, but his work transcends any narrow categorization. This book contains landscapes, formal portraits, nudes, candid portraits, and of course, fashion photographs. All of them are profoundly sensitive and insightful. Sieff's photographs are about discovery of light and what it reveals about our lives. The accompanying text is very revealing of the artists feelings about his work, and is often very humorous as well. The book is beautifully produced on heavy, high quality stock. I honestly don't know how a book like this can be produced and sold for this price. Altogether, this book deserves the attention of anyone passionate about great photography.

Rating: Summary: Rips Your Heart Out Review: images so beautiful they'll rip your heart right out. can't imagine a more beautiful book -- at any price. or a more inspiring (and loving) look at the female form. my desert island choice.
Rating: Summary: An amazing book that belongs in everybody's collection! Review: This book is full of painfully beautiful images- I hated to turn the page, but couldn't wait to see what was next! This is definitely one that will have my complete attention time, and time, and time again. As a photographer, it touches me and speaks to me in a way very few books ever have. It's definitely a good source of inspirational "soul food" before I go out on an assignment. I still can't believe the price- it must be a misprint! At twice the price it is still a bargain.

Rating: Summary: If you study B&W photography buy this book Review: This is an excellent book showing Sieff's Balck&White photographic work from the 1950's to 1980's. (287 pages worth) If Mr. Sieff has picked all the plates himself for this book then he has chosen very well because it shows his development as an artist over several deacdes. The only pictures I would have personally edited from the book were the four images from the Catacombs in Palermo 1982, they belong in another type of photo book. The photo's vary from the abstract to landscape and sum up into a pleasant blend of images. The book itself is a great example of quality bookprinting and the page size is just right to give good area for the photos. To Mr. Sieff I would like to say; "Please go ahead with the planned book; Homage to a 127 bottoms!"
