Summary: Old Friends: Great Texas Courthouses
Review: Great book whether you are from Texas or not. The author's artwork is superb and gives you the real feelings of these "old Texas friends". The stories are right out of history and very entertaining. Whether you are young or old, the past is always a great place to visit and Mr. Morgan's book is a wonderful time machine with which to travel there. Highly recommended.

Summary: Seeking people interested in this specific subject.
Review: I'd like to hear from others who share interest in Texas courthouses and history. In the five years I published "Old Friends" calendars (1995-1999) before the publication of this book, more than a hundred people wrote or called to tell me of their trips around the state to visit the courthouses in all 254 counties and to share their impressions and/or stories of the courthouses. If we haven't visited, or even if we have, let's talk Texas courthouses.

Summary: A Lesson in History
Review: The prose is remarkably uplifting and allows one to look at history in a unique fashion. The stories are interesting and some local people with firsthand knowledge about one particular story told me the article was correct to the letter. The drawings are amazingly accurate to the finest detail. An excellent gift for the upcoming holidays. Your friends or relatives would greatly appreciate this book.

Summary: Old Friends
Review: This book provides an entertaining historical account of the grand old courthouses of Texas. The author takes you back to days when the county seat was the center of activity and the letter of the law was a bit dusty. The drawings are spectacular in detail as are the tall tales of Texas lore. It is an excellent gift book and very reasonably priced.

Summary: Fascinating, Topical, Wonderfully Illustrated
Review: This is a fascinating work on a fairly esoteric topic. Although I usually don't usually encounter such works unless I am looking up specific information, I came across this book and had a difficult time putting it down. The illustrations are a magical blend of art and fact. When I have visited the courthouses, I felt as if I had been there - from both the prose and the drawings. If this topic (Texas history and culture) sounds interesting, get the book - you'll love it. If you are not sure, get the book - you'll love it. This will make a wonderful gift.

Summary: Old Friends: Great Texas Courthouses
Review: This is NOT a review. This is my third attempt to correct an error in Amazon's "Old Friends: Great Texas Courthouses" page. I am not the Bill Morgan you have listed, I don't know him, and was not involved in any way with the books you have listed as my credits. My only title is "Old Friends: Great Texas Courthouses." I don't want to take credit for that Mr. Morgan's work--and I assume that he doesn't want to take the blame for mine. If this is not the correct way to make the change, would you please let me know how to do it? Thanks, Bill Morgan
