Summary: Awesome Pocket Guide
Review: I have been a photographer for quite some time and have recommended this book to all my friends who are either serious about photography or who like to take pictures for fun. For a Pocketguide, this book has a ton of information that are very useful not only for beginners but also for intermediates and advanced. It's excellent! It not only talks about the basics of a camera, film, shutter, aperture, lenses, filters, lighting, action, portraits, darkroom, etc. but also shows you examples. There are a lot of pictures in here for you to see the difference between one item and another. What good is a how to book without pictures, it's not just all words. You couldn't ask for more in a pocket guide. And it's small enough to carry around with you always.

Summary: Great travel photography guide
Review: The book is an excellent guide to take with you on a trip. It is lightweight, compact, and summarizes ideas needed for good pictures. I have the Nikon and National Geographic guides and about ten other photography books. All are are too heavy to take on an overseas trip.

Summary: Excellent, beginner/intermediate level reference guide.
Review: This book covers every major photographic topic in a concise, yet comprehensive manner. The small format of this book makes it an essential in your camera kit. It is an ideal compliment to the Kodak Pocket Guide. I never go on vacation or photo outings without them both.

Summary: When good, if easy... better.
Review: This is a great easy to follow guide for picture taking, and correct use of equipment. Also very helpfull for litlle technical tips and composition remarks whenever you mostly need them. This handy manual, is perfect for carring in a camera case or in your car. However, its excelent for a beginner, for a more experienced photographers might seem too simple; but still good enough as a practical remminder.

Summary: An Indispensable Pocket Reference
Review: This little book tucks right into my camera bag, so it's easy to take along on photo outings. If you're at all serious about learning how to take better 35mm photos, you need to have this little book on hand for when you have those burning questions about light conditions, aperature/shutter speed combinations, etc. This isn't a book that is necessarily a stand-alone guide. Think of it as a quick reference to the bigger version. While this little book is a decent collection of quick tips for the field, if you're really serious about learning 35mm photography, get bigger Kodak guide as well.

Summary: Good but needs an update
Review: This small book packs a lot of useful information. It's size makes it possible to carry it in your pocket or bag. It covers the most essential points of photography. Great for starters! My only criticism: it needs an update. Modern SLR's are not covered and the illustrations make you feel like you've picked up a second hand book from the 80's. Hopefully Kodak will make a new and updated edition.
