Summary: An Important Work of Art
Review: A number of reviewers here have objected to the classification of the images in 'Femalia' as art, on the grounds that they fail to measure up to their aesthetic ideals. But art, as any public gallery worth the name will attest, is far more than mere pretty pictures.

True Art challenges one's worldview. And 'Femalia' certainly does that. It is a brave and lonely voice challenging the contemporary view of the female body, so overwhelmingly submerged in fantasy and falsification.

This is an important work. I highly recommend it to any man genuinely interested in the female form, and to any woman estranged from her own.

Summary: Beautiful women!
Review: I was always nervous about the way my labia looked. Finding this book of pictures in the store helped me immediatly feel better. The drawings in other books are always extreamly difficult to acknowlege as anything that would belong to my body. I have yet to see one drawing that was much more than a bunch of wavey lines put together to form "?"something"?" But this book has actual photos that allowed me to see how wonderfully different all women are. It's just beautifull!

Summary: Not that great
Review: I'm not the most sophisticated reviewer, but I bought this book thinking there would be very attractive and possibly erotic images. I didn't expect models, but I thought the images would still be attractive, given the complex and enticing nature of the subject. However, I thought most of the images were poorly lit snapshots of untrimmed, sometimes overweight women. Up close, of course.

I think the idea for the book is great, but was dissappointed in much of the photography and subjects. Nonetheless, there are still a handful of rather impressive photos inside.

Summary: Beauty is truth, and truth beauty.
Review: No airbrushing, no artistic lighting, just page after page showcasing the diversity of vulvae. Each one as different as the faces of the women must be that own them; the subjects are kept anonymous so no bias can be given by the viewer; for who is to say what connotes pulchritude of genitalia? This book is at once theraputic and aesthetically pleasing.

Summary: Femalia
Review: These photographs are really something else. Some of them look like seashells or flowers, like you might expect, but there are a couple that bear a striking resemblance to pictures of the madonna. I'm not making this up! These madonna-like photos of labia are a wonderful testament to womens bodies, and the goddess within each of us!

Summary: Good book
Review: This book although accomplishes his mission, with many photographs, fair explanations etc. don't show anything new that adult magazines doesn't have. Still won't steal space in a book shelve.

Summary: An excellent book of photographs
Review: This book contains very little text beyond the introduction.
It is a slim volume filled with excellently photographed pictures, in full color, and close up view of female gentalia.
The variety of colors, textures, and shapes of the women photographed are quite interesting
Details are very sharp and clear.

This is a book that would be enjoyed and appreciated by anyone who truly loves women, and finds everything about women fascinating.

No other aspect of the woman is pictured, and the women are not identified in any way.

In fact, the only reason this book did not get a 10 from me is because I would have liked to have a few details about each woman, such as ethnic heritage or nationality, age, marital status, and whether she had or had not given birth to children.

Summary: a beautiful look at vulva's
Review: this book is excellent. it gives a real, up close look at the beauty of womens labia and clitoris. as a man I found it educational and informative as to how the average woman looks in real life. I only wish it had shown women who were aroused, I would have given it a 10. this is a book for women and men, I highly recommend it.

Summary: Not what it purports to be
Review: This book suffers from a problem in the billing it has been given. I was disappointed. Having purchased it, I would say it should be categorized as a teaching aid, and the book itself suggests that it may be useful to doctors, nurses, or teachers-anyone whose work involves talking with people about their bodies. Unfortunately the book is for sale at Amazon in a section that suggests it is an art book. The coy cover also suggests that this will be a book that seeks to explore the female genitalia in terms of the abstract beauty of the human body. It was on that assumption that I bought it, anyway. In fact, the photographs have little artistic appeal. They are quite clinical. There is little erotic appeal either-for the same reason. If you need a set of examples of female genitalia for some illustrative purpose, this book is fine. If you are seriously interested in art photography, go elsewhere. If it's pornography you're after, hit the newsstand-or your browser button.
