Review: Mother is the result of four years work by Jim Erickson, an acclaimed international advertising photographer who focused on images of motherhood in this superbly presented, coffee table compendium showcasing the best of his work on this specialized project. The first section of photographed images , "Heaven", is inspired by the Old Masters of European art history and are rich in color, detail, and allegorical reference. The second section, "Earth", offers a more documentary style of photographic imagery showing women worldwide in a complete spectrum of circumstances. Strongly recommended for personal, professional, academic, and community library photography collections, it is no understatement to refer to this impressive collection as "classic".
