Rating: Summary: A fine look at feet Review: Isn't it amazing that these charming little feet have gone without notice for so long. Our mothers all remember buying us our 'first pair of shoes'...it took artist/photogapher Marina Gilboa months to photograph these exquisite vignettes... The result is a glimpse of childhood, in its finest and most sensitive moments, and what makes children similar, around the world. Each photo tells a story, of exhuberant youth and the innocence of childhood, and how we should seize the moment when our children celebrate their first years of life. I canot wait to see what the author plans next....she has a gifted eye, and to bring to these pages these inimitable photos of "little feet" , unposed, as we see them and probably just pass by.... is a blessing. I can just see the author, with her camera capturing the essence of that magic moment. We were all once"little feet". This book is truly a blessing and I was impressed with the diversity on photos, -the variation on theme..and how beauifully it all came together.~pl
Rating: Summary: Simple can be super Review: Little feetby Marina Drasnin Gilboa If ever a book of photographs can be called charming, this is the book. Measuring only 6 1/4 X 6 1/4" with 72 pages, this book holds images of tiny feet in sweet, scuffed, muddy and precious baby shoes of all kinds. Above the shoes are chubby knees, drooping socks and rolled up cuffs of baggy pants or appealing hems of pretty little dresses. Some shoe laces are untied. Some feet are moving--running jumping, swinging and more, and some are still. Some images are black and white, some are brown-toned and others are color. All are captivating. What a wonderful idea photographer Marina Drasnin Gilboa had when she thought of producing this book. This book would be a precious gift for a new parent or grandparent. Totally delightful. Published by Chronicle Books and copyrighted 2000, it is beautifully done.
