Summary: A frontier of profound intimacy
Review: Books are important when they push a paradigm shift to a point of clear recognition. It so helps to have two hunded photographs to make such a solid case for the profound relationship people and animals share. For many this will be an aha ... and a happy one. Jill Fineberg knows the depth of such relationships and therefor her keen eye knows who and where to go to get real evidence of these bonds. The book sat on the altar of my cats recent demise and now is a coffee table joy for all the visitors who stop in.

Summary: Delighting in Diversity
Review: Jill Fineberg's beautifully-crafted images show us a world that delights in diversity -- black and white, red and blue, young and old, gay and straight. When we see how many different kinds of animals are loved and cherished as pets, and how many different kinds of humans they love to sleep with, it reminds us that maybe there really is room for all of us here on earth.

It's also wonderful that Fineberg has given us the chance not only to delight in our animal companions, but also that she gives us information on helping them as well. For any of us who have ever been comforted, protected, and loved by our pets, People I Sleep With is a joy. I plan to give out many copies as holiday gifts.

Summary: Top item on my list of holiday gifts
Review: This is a lovely book about the relationships of both remarkable and ordinary humans and their remarkable and ordinary animals. I picked it up out of curiosity and bought another five copies to give to my animal loving friends as gifts.

This book hightlights day to day life with the critters we love and that enrich our lives. The photographs are gorgeous. I would happily hang several in my home and I'm very fussy about art and photography. The quotes are apt and the writing about the humans and their relationships with their animal companions is evocative and delightful.

This book has a prominent place in my library.
