Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A very Warhol Christmas
Review: "Ho, Ho, Ho!", by Andy Warhol, is a delightful little book. It brings together a number of Warhol's works of visual art, done in various media, together with quotes from some of his writings. As the title indicates, the illustrations and text all have a Christmas theme.

Some of the illustrations are black-and-white, but most are in vibrant color. Warhol uses Santas, Christmas trees, presents, angels, poinsettias, and other motifs. The artwork as a whole is playful and charming. The quotes are fun too. A typical Warholism: "Big smiles make a party better because they're energy." A supplement at the end of the book gives the date and medium for each work of art--a definite plus for serious Warhol scholars!

I have to admit, I'm known as my family's "Scrooge" (doesn't every family have one?) around the holiday season. But Andy Warhol's "Ho, Ho, Ho!" even appealed to me. Even if you don't celebrate Christmas, you may also be delighted by this whimsical book.
