Rating: 5 stars
Summary: More than just a sidewalk!
Review: I had first seen this work in a portfolio box some years ago and besides being struck by the visual athletics of this fine photographer, my thought was this work needed to be presented in a book. I am happy to see Sidewalk published! Jeff has been able to make street pictures which are at once funny without being silly, insightful to human behavior and profound to the human condition. Jeff's work is part visual Studs Trekle and part Penn & Teller, because he seems to pull rabbits out of a hat! Life stranger than fiction? You bet after looking at this collection of color (and colorful) street pictures made in New York City. If you can appreciate the street pictures made by Lee Friedlander, Garry Winogrand and Joel Meyerowitz, then add Sidewalk to your bookshelf!
