Rating: Summary: a wonderful aid to teaching use of colour Review: first of all apologies for not reviewing the text of this book as for me the important aspect of this book is that there are excellent colour plates of Rauschenberg's work. These pieces were as a result of Rauschenberg's travels around the world and are thematically categorised by the individual countries visited. As one of the main features of his work is the use and re-use of found images and materials one can learn an incredible amount about how the impact of these images can be manipulated according to the colours chosen. Rauschenberg work demonstrates his complete mastery of colour - it should be recommended to every art student esp. painters, printmakers and graphic designers (strong anaologies to layering in photoshop), unfortunately it is a relatively slim volume and as such could be considered overpriced for those on a budget - hence the removal of one star.
