Rating: Summary: The best book I've ever read- Breathtaking! Review: This is the most wonderful story every written. I have yet to read a book that expresses human emotions better than this one. And anyone who says it was a terrible book, has something wrong with them. Obviously it wasn't realistic but the story line and the characters themselves were the best any author could have made them. At parts i could have cried. And the point where you realize that the game is all real, it just puts everything together. I loved it. I can't wait to read the sequel.
Rating: Summary: One of my all time favorite novels Review: When I first picked up this book in my english class two years ago, I had never heard of Orsen Scott Card, and I was very sceptical of his writings. But the idea of such an future as the on elder lived in continued to pull me in through out the book. It pulled me in so much I continued to read all three books in the series. And I am now a fan of Cards, and have read virtually ever book he has written. I have to recomend this book to anyone who enjoys science fiction and even most that don't.
Rating: Summary: Great start to the Ender series!! Review: This was a great start to the Ender series. It was the first of Card's work that I read. After reading that I was hooked. The plot is gripping and never stops. All of the characters were devloped very well, and it sets the reader up for Speaker and Xenocide.
Rating: Summary: A REALLY good book Review: Ender's Game is one of the best books that I have ever read. Once I started reading I couldn't stop. If you're in for a really good science fiction book you have got to read this one. It's a facinating story about a young boy with a different kind of a childhood.
Rating: Summary: YOU ARE MENTALLY DISTURBED IF YOU RATE THIS BOOK BELOW 10!! Review: I am 11 years old and have just finnished Enders Game for the ( I mean it,I counted) 37 time. It absolutely grabbed me. I am now insisting that people call me Ender. O.S. Card is truly a master in his field. Enders Game should have won far more awards. I have recommended it to everyone I know. I have read countless novels for all ages and I really think that Enders Game is the best.
Rating: Summary: A fast read that will linger and make you think Review: Everyone loves or hates this book, I love it. It has some inconsistancy errors, but they don't distract from the rapid pace Card sets. Ender's Game talks about gifted students through thier own world view. Most children do think they are people, not children. A gifted child pushed to his (or her) limits could well accomplish what Ender did, or they could go insane. This book I would endorse to anyone. But I don't loan it out any more. Four copies have fallen apart and another 6 were never returned.
Rating: Summary: In a word: inspirational Review: ...for those who classified this novel as 'an average sci-fi book,' I believe that they missed the boat completely. This was not only a superbly compelling science fiction story, but a fable in the grandest sense of the word. The lessons of love of hate, and of the intimate understandings thereof are to be taken to heart, are to be incorporated into one's own life and experiences, and are to be held as ideals forever. I feel that the reactions listed fail to address this, and, thus, miss completely, the moral of this story: To know is to love. To hate is to be ignorant...
Rating: Summary: I HATE SCI-FI but I had to read this for school, its GREAT Review: I never read any of our books in school. In class we started the first chapter of enders game and in some weird way I picked up the book at home and read to chapter nine. I loved the book and dreamt it through as I read it. I wish the book could go on forever it was exciting. After the first two chapter of introduction, the book is unexplanitory. Orson Scott Card wrote an amazing book. I know its a series, but i've heard the rest aren't as good so i never read them. READ THIS BOOK. I don't read, but I read this ONE book. I hate reading. My english grade always dies because of reading and i have to work hard to bring it up. I read this one I LOVED IT and my grade was an A
Rating: Summary: This is the absolute best book I have ever read. Review: I find most things in life interesting and I love to experience things and then move on. For example, I very much dislike watching a movie that I have already seen, because I could be watching something I havn't seen yet. As with books, I hate even more to reread a book because there are thousands to be read. Yet with Ender's Game I have read this book four times, and have read the quartet twice. I find that most people who do read the book find it very interesting and consider it a favorite. I have done my best to pass the book on to as many people as possible. I have even mailed my copy to a friend. I think it's great that there is a movie beeing made. It's even better that Card is directing. I can't wait to see the movie. And I'm waiting for the hardback to come out. I just want to say thanx to Mr. Card for contributing to my life with Ender's Game. If there is a distribution list I can be added to, I would like to hear updates about the movie. Sincerely, Chris Romo
Rating: Summary: Ender's game was a good book where Ender had real feelings. Review: I thought that Ender's Game was a fairly good read. I identified with Ender, I feel as If I've been in situations like the ones with Stilson and Bonzo (except I didn't go to the extremes like Ender, and no one was out to kill me!). The plot was exciting and gripping, for Ender faced new challenges and problems at every turn. The added touch of Locke and Demosthenes was humourous. All in all, this was a good book. If I were to compare it with Speaker for the Dead, one of my favorite Card books, I would say that it is much different, more action filled. This was a good book to read.
