Rating: Summary: Read this book. There's no better way to say it. Review: What can you say about Ender's Game that hasn't already been said? Well, besides anything negative, there's nothing original to say, because tons of people have read this book and loved it. It is easily on of my two favorites (The other being Jurrassic Park), but it is the only one I go back to read again and again, just because it is so original, and Card makes you love the world he creates. You want to feel it, you DO feel it, you breathe the battle school experience and wish you were there, interacting in this world. I never wanted the book to end, just to stretch on in an eternity of battle school life. The characters, the story, the... experience. In a way, I'm sorry that there is a movie about it coming up, because it will never fulfill the the Enders Game world. I love that book, and I try to impart my love of that book to everyone I know. Read this book.
Rating: Summary: An excellent choice for Sci-Fi readers! Review: I was headed on a trip to Indonesia, and I picked out several Science Fiction books from the Library. My father also lent me Ender's Game. As coincidence would have it, I had taken out all 3 sequels to Ender's Game, so I got to read all 4. Ender's Game provided the most memorable characters and events I have ever read. I hope that Orson Scott Card continutes to right Parallel books (ie Ender's Shadow).
Rating: Summary: THE BEST BOOK EVER! Review: I read alot and am typically not impressed by books especially sci-fi. However Ender's Game was the best book I've read in a long time. It is certainly a leader in ratings and should be used as a example of sci-fi for without a doubt it is defidently one of the best there is.
Rating: Summary: A masterpiece! Review: This book really makes you feel sorry for Ender. It gets you inside his head and you know how he thinks and everything, even when it doesn't tell you what he is thinking, you know what is going through his head. I can guarunty that 99% of the people who read this book will love it. This masterpiece by Orson Scott Card will be remembered by me for all of my life. Read this book or you will have really missed out. If you read this book I would read Ender's Shadow before you start Children of the Mind.
Rating: Summary: Absoutly awesome with all the beauty of sci fi Review: I recieved my first copy of Enders Game when i was 17 from a co-worker. I read it, remembered it and loved it. Eventually over a series of moves i also lost it. I bought another copy and when it arrived i started reading immidatly. 226 pages under 36 hours. Thats with 10 hours of sleep as well. This copy that i have now is going into my safe. If anyone wants to borrow it they will require to beat me to death to get to it. It is absoutly the best book that i've ever read in the Sci-Fi section. Personal feelings aside. The way the book was written was in of itself beautiful. The detail to science i've never seen in other books. Not only the science part but the humanity, feelings and emotions. Bravo Orson Scott Card. I'm looking forward to reading the next book.
Rating: Summary: Ender's Game: A science fiction wonder Review: Ender's game is a sci/fi novel that tells the story of a young boy named Andrew Wiggum (named Ender by his sister Valentine). The story takes place on Earth in the future. Earth has been attacked twice by an alien species called the Buggers, nearly destroying the human race. Mankind begins training young genuses to fight as solgers and commanders in Earth's defence in case of another attack. Ender is extreamly intelligent for age six and gets sent off to battle school to train. He quickly rises among the ranks of people at battle school until he is at the top. He then begins training to lead Earth's fleet in battle. This book leaves you at the edge of your seat throughout the whole thing. If it is Ender's exteam violent nature or if the Buggers attack again. These things along with Orson Scott Card's Andrew "Ender" Wiggum make this book one of the best sci/fi books of all time. This is a must read for all sci/fi fans, and even if you don't like sci/fi, I am sure that this book will change some of your feelings about this genera.
Rating: Summary: All-time best book in the Galaxey Review: I am a writer and I have read this, along with some of Orson Scott Card's books. In the past, I generally wrote poetry and real-to-life stories. It was Ender's Game that inspired me to write science-fiction. Now am write sci-fi novels. The character profile is superb and it creates an emotional link to all of the charcters, namely Ender. It is well-written and discriptive yet it does't leave the reader to sit, oblivious to the language. I love this book with all my heart!
Rating: Summary: A mesmerising novel Review: I purchased this book on the strength of reviews on Amazon, and even though science fiction is not my favourite genre, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The characters are finely drawn, and the plot is complex and clever. The ending surprised me, which is always good, and in the end I was disappointed that there wasn't more. A great book!
Rating: Summary: The Best Big Book I've Ever Read! Review: I rarely ever read books, so when I picked up "Ender's Game" for a class assignment I was surprised at how deeply engrossed I became in the book I was and that it interested me at all. I am only 17 years old (a junior in high school) and this is one of the biggest books I have ever read, yet I understood it. I am glad that there is a book out there that can fit every age range and be understood. I am not completely done with the book yet, but I know that the end will be great. Thanks! ~*~Kitty~*~
Rating: Summary: This book fits no genre exactly and all of them perfectly. Review: When I saw the Amazon.com top 100 books of the twentieth century list "Ender's Game" was near the top. I read the synopsis and decided it sounded interesting. I looked for it online but it was out of print. I looked in used book stores but it is so popular a title that they sell out fast. Finally, a few weeks ago I found the book on Amazon. When I started to read it I was immediately shocked at how accurately the author was able to tap into the lives and fears of little children, at least of what we adults can remember of our own childhoods. Within the first few pages anyone who was ever been picked on as a kid will form an instant bond with Ender. Ender's story is told in a straightforward manner, and with the tenderness of an adult looking at a child they care about deeply. The result is that it gives the reader an emotional attachment that doesn't get weaker as the story goes on, but rather seems to intensify it. From the very beginning our hearts are with Ender, and Ender's heart is with his sister, who he isn't allowed to see. In a very real sense this book is a love story about siblings, friends, and teachers and students. The book's "Sci-Fi" aspect provides only a setting for the story and should in no way influence you one way or another. This book is about real human emotions, and about reflecting on who we are as indivuduals and as a society. It's full of compelling moral dillemas, bitter rivalries, and surprisingly exciting action. The one warning I will give a potential reader is; it is emotionally powerful. It will break your heart at times and lift your spirits at others. Some readers will be offended by the brutality of some of the characters in this novel. I've read other reviews comparing Ender to Napolean, and one review that was way off the mark comparing him to Hitler. The truth is that Ender had no intention or desire to be a leader, and the thought of killing anyone sickened him. His genious was being used by the Hitlers and Napoleans of his world. I, like most people I know, am a reader who likes certain authors in various genres. Card is not on my list. To be honest, I don't know for sure that I'll read any of his other books, (except the Ender "series") but that shouldn't stop anyone from reading this masterpiece. It stands on its own as a great work of fiction and, in my humble opinion, a timeless, genreless clasic.
