Summary: SO HIP IT'S HARD TO GET THROUGH DOORS!
Review: Yup. This book is one of the best. Stephenson's junior effort gives ya everything you could possibly ask for. For an eclectic bloke like me it had all the passions of my life: martial arts ( particularly kenjutsu), computers, ancient history, pizza. Gotta love it folks. I'm really sorry if you were one of the few people who could not stay with it to the end, because it truly is a great read. It is a full bodied hunk of juicy plot slathered with a generous dollop of reality between two slices of wry humor. Sink your teeth in, but remember your napkin!

Summary: Just Listen To Reason
Review: Since the time I first recieved this novel free as a promotional giveaway for a computer game I have always looked back on that day as a lucky one. Although the game may have been crap the book has more than paid for the cost spent. I have loaned the book to many friends and they all devoured it as quickly as I did and still do. Even friends who were not into this sort of genre thanked me later for forcing the book upon them. Just listen to Reason and buy the book.

Summary: Starts out good, but...
Review: ... the rest is awefull. I found myself wanting to quit reading it for the last 300 pages. It is really really bad! Which is just a shame, cause the first 100 pages are great. Fast and funny. The rest is neither.

Summary: Insanely hip cyberpunk mythology of the 21st century
Review: When Hiro Protagonist, a pizza-deliverator for the Mafia, messes up a delivery, and gets fired, things look pretty normal. But Hiro is the greatest sword-fighter in the Metaverse, the silicon world of virtual reality, and the last freelance hacker. Together with Y.T, a 15-year old skateboard messenger, he's in search of a mutant maniac known as Raven, who has a nuclear warhead that will take out America as soon as he dies.Mixing Sumerian mythology, virtual reality, wierd serial killers, powerful corporations and the bizzare futuristic America of the 21st century, this is probably the coolest cyberpunk writer since William Gibson

Summary: Packed with humour but highly believable!
Review: I had great expectation before reading this book, and it didn't disappoint me at all. The characters are very well taken care of, and the way Stephenson imagines the future of Northern America is just as funny as it can be - the Mafia delivering pizzas and protecting neighbourhoods? I really had moments of laughter while reading it. Furthermore, there are characters in the book I found particulary amusing - the Rat Things - it's amazing how Stephenson vaulted into the minds of those "cyberdogs" and described their thoughts and acts - very cute! Also, through the book it is obvious that the writer has got quite some knowledge about computers (coding in particular) - and I myself, being a programmer, found the Metaverse (cyberspace) and all its features quite believable (more than Gibson's cyberspace, although I love his work as well), as well as amusing. What's more, I understand that some people find the Sumerian-mythology in the book somewhat inappropriate or boring, but I think it makes the book much better, giving it the opportunity to show an original and very amusing theory of how we have become like we are now. I recommend this book not only to science fiction fans but to everyone.

Summary: One of My Favorite--Great Mix of SF World & Martial Arts
Review: Snow Crash creates 2 worlds: One that is "Reality" which has deteriorated into something that is scary & humorus at the same time, and a world that is limitless in cyberspace. This book then intertwines these worlds and creates a plausible way for them to be interdependent. Great suspense, it made it hard to put down. Just enough reality to make the fantasy world come to life. Still one of my favorites!

Review: This book is great. The Sumerian mythoogy does bog down the plot a bit, but it's interesting none the less. Definately a personal favorite.

Review: A super-believable future, not too far off, is what Stephenson has created... Really, really interesting extrapolations of today's technologies, not least the Web. Also extremely funny in places. A very exciting story, well written, good plot. A Must Read!! And watch out for the dentata...

Review: This book starts fast and hooks you right away. Could this be our future? Also recommend a couple of other books about the present and future: THE ROCK and AREA 51 by Robert Doherty.
