Rating: Summary: Great Fun! One of the Best Children's Book Around! Review: One of my all-time favorites for children aged four months to 2 1/2 years! The youngest will enjoy the enthusiastic alliterative rhyming and the bright colors; toddlers (and adults!) will also enjoy the clever pictorial links between each page (preparations for fireworks are shown in the corner of one page; delightfully exploding berries on the next).I don't know whether this book is more fun for the reader or the listener ("Raspberry/Jazzberry/ Razzamatazzberry/ Berryband/Merryband/Jamming in Berryland"), but it will fast become a favorite for you and a child! An enchanting tale, beautifully told: A perfect gift!
Rating: Summary: Wonderful cadence! Review: This is a wonderful little book. My 7-month old loves it. I started reading to him from birth. The hardcover pages make it a perfect size for little hands. He looks forward to our reading Jamberry. The author was so creative and the rhyming is wonderful. It's a fun book to read outloud to my son! I also recommend Sheep in a Jeep and Sweet Dreams, Ted. They, along with Jamberry, are his favorites! Pick yours up today as a gift or for your own little baby or toddler.
Rating: Summary: no love from our book lover! Review: My son is 18 months old and LOVES books. He seems to have an insatiable desire for books. I was disappointed by the "busy" illustrations and awkward reading. This is the only book we own that doesn't hold his interest at all.
Rating: Summary: My toddler twins LOVE this book! Review: I have to admit that when I first read this book, I wasn't too sure what I thought of it. As another reviewer said, it contains a lot of fanciful words: jamberry, moonberry, berryband, and so forth. My twins absolutely LOVE this book, though! To them, it's every bit as good as their favorite Dr. Seuss classic. They enjoy the rhyme and repetition of the words, and love to look through the beautifully illustrated pages to find things they recognize. We have a lot of books, and this is the one that they will ask me to read every day (sometimes more than once). We've nearly worn out one board book by reading and rereading it, so I'm going to buy another for them soon. I highly recommend this book for your toddler!
Rating: Summary: Love every word and evey picture Review: This book is beautiful to look at and fun to read. It carries children away, (my daughter age 1.5 "I want to get very very very small and go ride that horsey'). The cadence of the book is soothing and exciting. I have so much fun reading this book that I usually improvise some jazzy notes after the brass band verse and I always lift my voice in a resounding "BOOM" durning the last verse. This is not a book about berries - it is a trip into the imagination of a little boy - and what a beautiful journey Bruce Degen has created for us to enjoy.
Rating: Summary: Fun,Sweet, gorgeously illustrated and ****Addictive! Review: ***** ~*~This was my number #1 find in the course of caring for 9 nieces and nephews over the past 14 years! ~**~ Bruce Degen's illustrations are, as always, absolutely luscious, and in this case, mouth-watering. My niece loved to look for tiny hidden details in the beautiful pictures. I recommend buying the larger size copy if possible just to be able to see the pictures at their best. ~***~ The story lines are simple, but beautifully rhythmic, and whimsical. They don't sound like Nobel prize winning words: ~~*~~: "Quickberry quackberry, ."pick me a Blackberry" ......Trainberry, trackberry, ......Clickety clackberry. But the pictures and words form an enchanting little story that all the toddlers couldn't get enough of. Now my latest pride and joy, at 8 months, is already fascinated by the book, and just reciting the lines can stop his fussing. This is destined to be one of those "forever" children's books, and luckily it's a joy to read. :-)
Rating: Summary: Jamming in Berryland! Review: We love this book! I have been reading this to my son since he was 4 months old and neither of us have tired of it. It is a wonderfully fun book to read with beautiful illustrations. This is by far my favorite book and my son loves to hear it. Can not recommend it enough.
Rating: Summary: Jamberry Review: "Jamberry" is a book about a bear and a little boy who are counting berries in all different ways. They are also saying all different kinds of berries. Such as, hatberry, shoeberry, canoeberry, and fun berries like that. There are berry ponies, dances, trains, and meadows. The book teaches you to have fun and use your imagination. The age level is for children from ages 2-7. I have loved this book since I was a little kid. It rhymes well and has fun, cute pictures.
Rating: Summary: One Berry, Two Berry..... Review: This is a wonderful book. I have been reading it to my twin daughters for about 15 months now. The author did an incrediable job flowing the illustrations and words together. It is easy to adjust the speed of it. Add a couple of hand movements and you have un-divided attention for the duration. As a parent, having read the book about 300 times, it is STILL fun to read. Definately worth the $8 price tag!
Rating: Summary: Jamberry is the BEST! Review: We love this book! I have been reading it to my 6 month old every day since she was 2 weeks old, and it is our favorite. Each time you read the book, you can spot new things within the illustrations. And, each page has an illustration that leads you to the next page! I wish Bruce Degen wrote more books like this- he is very talented.
