Summary: Worth the Read
Review: I just finished this book last night, and all I have to say is- wow. This epic tale of family, love, and rising above is WELL worth the effort. A story revolving around the central character, Dominick Birdsey, and his twin brother Thomas, it spans several generations, countries, and times. I admit, I considered putting it down at the very beginning. But this book really is the 900 page boulder it appears to be... once it gets rolling you can't stop. I found myself reading it furiously until 2 A.M. in the morning, unable to put it down. Not only is it a beautiful story, it really leaves you feeling like you've been hit by a truck at the end... hit by a truck, and like Dominick, survived.

A must read.

Summary: Must read!!!!
Review: This is one of my favorite books!!! I could not believe the story of the two brothers. It will make you laugh and cry. This is a story of love of a brother and struggle with a mental disease. I could not possibly put this book down. It takes you on a journey over a 40 year period in a life of a man with a twin brother who is mentally ill. Everyone should read this book.

Summary: Wally Lamb Does it Again!
Review: What a wonderful read. It is a bit slow in the begining but well worth it if you stick to it for the first 100 pages or so. The way the main character's grandfather's biography is inserted into the story added a wonderful element to it all, keeping the reader involved with this strange family history, and wanting to care about them. I am awaiting his next work with baited breath...

Summary: heavy (litterally, :-P) but over all it's worth it
Review: This is a very captivating novel, a read page-turner, despite it's enourmousness. With it's well portrayed characters, and personalized greif, you really feel like you are in the book and can relate to the main character, Dominick Birdsey. He's a man of all seasons; he can be coragous, loving, protective, and most importantly, he has a great sense of responsibility. He's a real noble character. Even though the central plot is really depressing at times, Dominick's sardonic tone and over-all self-deprication make the novel extremely interesting. I'd recommend this book to anyone who's looking for profound reading in fiction.

Summary: This book becomes a part of your life
Review: Anyone who has read this book will tell you, that it only takes reading the first 50 pages, and you're completely obessed with reading the (900) pages that remain. It is by FAR my all time favorite book, and I tend to read a book-a-week. By the time you finish "I Know This Much Is True", you will miss reading it as though it were a part of you.

Summary: One of my all-time favorites!!!
Review: This book was probably the best book I've ever read. I love Wally Lamb, but this one was much better than "She's Come Undone". It's longer, more challenging, and has a great storyline. I love it! If you read it, take your time. Wally Lamb gets so in-depth with the characters that it's great to kind of savor them :).

Do not let the page count scare you, I have never read a book of this size and still did not want it to end. The lifes of these amazing characters are written with so much emotion. The ending is very gratifing an unassuming. This book is one of the best books I ever read. The characters will stay with well after the book ends..Absolutely Captivity..

Summary: I WANT TO GIVE THIS BOOK 10 STARS!
Review: Without a doubt, this is the best book I've ever read. I first read it 4 years ago, and read it again this year. The themes are so well-defined and fluid throughout the novel. Perhaps I'm partial to this book, because it appealed directly to ME. As a worker in the field of mental health, the issues surrounding mental health and the "spectrum" of effects of mental illness was not only right on target, but were successfuly weaved throughout both characters. Further, as a native american, the "circle" theme was appealing to me, and masterfully done. I can't say enough about this book. It can be a little disturbing to the emotionally sensitive, but it should be. It should leave you thinking for years to come.

Summary: Great book!
Review: I feel that this book was very satisfying to read, as it kept my attention throughout. Once I started it, I had a hard time putting it down (and it is a LONG book to have to continue reading). Some moments are a little bizarre but nothing I couldn't handle, its only what could entice me to read more.
