Rating:  Summary: Amazing! It works! Review: Having read a zillion self-help books over the years, I have to admit that this is the single most useful self-help book I have ever read. I have purchased about ten copies of this book and passed them out to friends and family members. By the use of the techniques described in the book, I have eliminated long-standing emotional sore spots in my life. And, just for fun, I removed my life-long fear of touching and holding lizards, spiders (yes, I can actually hold a tarantula in my hand!) and snakes. Also, in about five minutes, I helped my niece get over her apprehensive feelings regarding starting high school. I don't know anyone who does not occasionally struggle to combat feelings that are not amenable to logical reasoning. This book clearly explains the simple and easy-to-memorize procedures that can completely eliminate such disturbing feelings. It is also interesting to read -- when I first picked up a copy of the book, I couldn't put it down. My copy now is dog-eared, marked up, and definitely USED.
Rating:  Summary: It Really Works Review: Having tried EVERYTHING (ie, traditional hypnotherapy, EMDR, psychotherapy, Xanax, yoga, etc.) to relieve my chronic anxiety attacks, I decided to give the book a try. I was very skeptical but am happy to report the techniques work. I was so impressed, I did a phone consultation with Dr. Pratt to resolve some traumatic childhood issues. In just one treatment, I felt enormous relief from emotional baggage I'd been hauling around for 20 years!
Rating:  Summary: A breakthrough in the treatment of emotional distress! Review: Hi, LOVED the book! I am a practicing kinesiologist here in the UK and have done extensive research into energy healing (part of my practice), Jin Shin Jyutsu which combines kinesiology and energy healing, as well as hypnosis and many other alternative modalities. This book however, combines a number of these into an easy-to-apply format for the immediate relief of emotional pain - BRILLIANT! Very practical and down-to-earth, I am recommending it to many of my clients, as well as applying it wherever necessary. A most useful addition to my alternative therapy 'armoury'. Many thanks! Rating:  Summary: ESM is amazing Review: I have found this book to be exceedingly helpful for many daily problems such as stress, anxiety, and procrastination. It is hard to believe that the simple protocols given in the book can result in such quick and complete relief, but they do. I have a hard science background (biochemistry) and do not give much creedence to fads and new age cures. After reading and trying the methods presented in "Instant Emotional Healing", I wish that I had found out about this field long ago. I have tried some of the protocols on friends with the same result. The book is well written and presented. All of the techniques presented are well documented and contain easy to understand illustrations. The book also contains a complete bibliography with references to research on which the book is based, as well as a glossary and a list of resources. Another nice feature is that book owners can access the author's "members" webpage. I highly recomend this book!
Rating:  Summary: Don't buy the tape buy the book Review: I have not bought the book but I intend to. The audio tape set is too confusing without any illustrations included in the box. In my opinion this is a huge marketing mistake. It made me give up and return the tape to Amazon. I had more emotional healing needs after trying to follow the tapes!!! At one point the authors even refer to the illustrations which had me turning the box upside down thinking I must have missed it. Tapes are really valuable for sight- impaired people and/or audio learners like myself. If you are interested buy the book and Good Luck!
Rating:  Summary: Which tape was that part on again? Review: I think this must be a great book, but the audio tapes are confusing. I relisten to them and take notes, but wish I had bought the book instead. These tapes need a booklet or visual aid to refer to. The information is really interesting and the techniques are powerful stress reducers. Get the book.
Rating:  Summary: This REALLY WORKS! Review: I'm not one to dash out and buy the latest gadget I see on an infomercial. Nor am I into pop psychology, I'm-ok-You're-ok mode of thinking. But I was at a point where I thought something like this book could help me. This book was featured on one of the daytime talk shows (can't remember which). The authors were interviewed, and various patients gave their testimonies. Although I was not fully convinced, I figured the book was worth a try. The beginning part is like a pep talk--I skipped that and read about the methods employed to help yourself in certain stressful situations. This book is excellent and the methods used to heal specific emotional problems WORK! I was skeptical until I tried the exercises and felt the results. They are effective even on a short-term basis; even more so on a daily basis. I would give this book 10 stars if I could.
Rating:  Summary: Instant Emotional Healing Review: If you have a problem, or if you ever had a problem that creates stress in your life, you could benefit from this book. This book is extremely well written. The authors explain scientific theories supporting why this method of self help works in very engaging and concrete manner. The result is that you read it, understand it, and are willing to try the simple exercises. You will experience well-being by connecting and grounding your thoughts and emotions in just a matter of minutes. It is so easy to learn. I feel so good that I'm coming back at to buy a few more copies to send to my favorite people.
Rating:  Summary: A Program That Really Works!!! Review: Sometimes it is hard to believe that a technique could change a 'lifetime held' life belief in a very short time. The exercises presented in this book do just that....remove negative patterns that hold us back from all we want to experience in life. I have been able to move through three difficult life beliefs with no remnants remaining of past negative patterning. One of my family members has also experienced true freedom with these exercises. The balanced breathing exercise is a must for calming the stress of everyday living. In a world where everything is accelerating at light speed, we need to be able to fine tune our emotions to live with a sense of peace and calm. Dr. Pratt and Dr. Lambrou are leading the way! Everything that we need to know is clearly explained, and anybody can put the guidelines to work on themselves quite easily. This is a great book that I highly recommend.
