Summary: Dinwiddie's Opinion
Review: Although the subject matter was depressing Billy Straight was a very good mystery - right up to the very end!

Summary: One of Kellerman's best
Review: A real page turner. A truly insightful book of life in the Los Angeles area. Having almost become a resident of Santa Barbara I almost know where the house is. I thoroughly enjoy Petra and hope she will appear again in another book -- maybe as a partner to Delaware. Think Stu is a bit too reticent to be her partner. One suggestion to Kellerman -- we really don't need all the vulgar language to enjoy your wonderful stories, but if you feel it is necessary to get your point across will still read everything you write. .

Summary: A MUST READ!
Review: J. Kellerman leads you on a roller coaster ride of twists and turns in his new novel Billy Straight. I could not put this book down. Each character is so detailed. Billy is a fantastic, brave, and yet vulnerable boy, and Petra is a strong willed leader with a very sensitive side -- both are characters I would like to see in future novels. The book is filled with detailed information only a child phycologist could right about. An added bonus was Alex Delaware's cameo role. A must read for J. Kellerman fans.

Summary: Loved this book!
Review: I was worried when I saw that Kellerman has dropped Alex and Milo in this book. I shouldn't have, it was a great read with wonderful characters. Milo and Alex show up too just to keep his fans happy. I highly recommend this novel.

Summary: My first Johnathan Keller experience...WOW!
Review: I enjoy Kellerman's style of writing in this novel. Plot twists keep you guessing, and the POV transitions make for one of the most intresting and page-turning novels I have ever read. Keeping Billy in the first person POV forces the reader to focus on the novel's title character, while the backstory unfolds...introducing many mysterious and unforgettable characters. Kellerman brings some past characters in for cameo appearances. This is a must read for those who don't like predictable stories.

Summary: Billy will go Straight to your heart!
Review: A couple of years ago I read "Nathan's Run" by John Gilstrap. It dealt with a very resourceful little boy who exemplified the survivalist instinct. Great read! After reading the description of "Billy Straight" I was reminded of the Gilstrap book. This is my first Kellerman novel and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I am anxious to read one of his Alex Delaware novels. My only wish for "Billy Straight" was that Kellerman had spent more time with this little boy. I wanted to know more about him. I wanted more adventures in the park with this kid. The story was well thought out and the locale was perfect considering I grew up in the areas the book focused on. Highly recommend this book.

Summary: A very good read!
Review: I have been a loyal fan of J.Kellerman for years and yet I put off reading Billy Straight for the mere fact that my favorite character, Alex Delaware was not in it. Boy, what I have missed. This book was great from page one! If I could have jumped through the pages to save Billy, I would have, although that tough little guy did a pretty good job on his own. I was captivated to the end and thoroughly enjoyed the plot twists. I have to say the ending had me surprised. Mr. Kellerman, I sure hope to read about Billy in the near future. Bravo!

Summary: Billy Straight
Review: I have read every book Jonathan Kellerman ever wrote. This was the most boring book of his I have ever read. He seems to ramble on and on. I did not like the way he wrote from both angles. His characters had no personalities, except for Billy and he wasn't written about enough. Sorry Jonathan....

Summary: Kellerman Has Written His Best Book Yet
Review: Billy Straight was a non-stop read. The characters in the book came to life. Let's hope he writes another with the same team of detectives. I loved this book and hope others will enjoy it as much as I did. Dr. Delaware, we didn't miss you at all. Kudos to you Jonathan, you have outdone yourself.

Summary: I liked the kid...when's the movie coming out?
Review:

I liked Billy, the title character of this story and rooted for him all the way through. I liked the detective (Petra) who tries to find the young boy who witnesses a brutal murder. I did not much care for the rest of the characters and the predictable story line. The red herrings didn't throw me, either.

The victim was not very sympathetic and the villan was pretty obvious from the beginning, but I didn't stop reading because I liked following Billy through the mean streets of Los Angeles.

I'm sure Hollywood will make this story into a movie...who will play Billy? Petra? The old Jewish man? The grandmother?

To me, it would have been a much better ending if Billy had wound up with the Jewish man...they needed each other and truly understood one another.

I liked this book and would recommend it with some, but not much, hesitation. I will go see the movie, too.
