Summary: This book changed my life
Review: I have purchased several copies of this book for friends. I read this book while in the depth of financial despair and with the practical guides I was able to get out of debt. There is no "debt fairy" that will jump out of the book and make you debt free, but if you follow the advice, as I did, then you will prosper. In four short years I went from being out of work/broke/house in foreclosure to a whole new life. I have repaired my credit and have recently applied for a mortgage. I have money in the bank, I have replaced the things I lost, and most important I feel good about myself. What a relief not to be afraid to answer the phone, to have an emergency fund and to not panic when you get a flat tire or something minor goes on. To the people who didn't get it, you probably never will, because you may be laboring under the idea that Mr. Mundis should wave some kind of magic wand over your head, the "how to" is in the book, keep the spending journal, learn from it and you will prosper. I did. Thanks, Mr. Mundis.

Summary: Awesome!
Review: I just wanted to say, I got this book and a program from someone else. This person was a life saver and it was wonderful. So far by following the program I have been able to pay of 2 bills out of 13 and have 3 more set to be paid off by the end of Sept. 2000. I began the program in July. With this plan I will be out of debt-house and all--by 2005. It helps to see the light at the end of the tunnel! It is hard to believe that it works but it does. I was skepitcal like everyone is. But with the program and some hard work and determination it can be done. I have a support person that I write to weekly to keep my spirits up when things get rough. Definetly worth it! Anyway, thanks for letting me give you my opnion. I hope it helps someone and gives someone else hope.

Summary: Excellent!
Review: I majored in accounting in college, so I should know better, but I managed to graduate with a ton of credit card debt and then financed a new car. This book gave me the practical advice I needed to make a debt-reduction plan and stick with it. It also gave me some great ideas about how to stop being tempted to use my credit card all the time. I had all the credit card debt and car debt paid off in about 2 years and have never carried a credit card balance since then.

I have recommended this book to lots of people who are having debt problems but don't know where to start for help in fixing them. I have also recommended it to people who have their heads in the sand about their debt problems.

Summary: I read this a little too late
Review: I read this book after I read the author's more recent book about underearning. I wish I had read both of these books earlier!

This is a small book, written in a breezy style, with lots of repetition. As such, it is not dissimilar to thousands of other self-help books--- but Mundis's books are special in two ways:

1. He doesn't BS the reader.

2. he doesn't condescend the reader.

Summary: You will begin to have hope and feel good about ending debt.
Review: I really appreciate the down to earth I've been there and survived approach the author takes to the subject. His experience with D.A. and interpretation of it's concepts to a workable day to day plan is good for not only debt but other major difficulties we all may face on the road of life. I had just read the Richest Man In Babylon and this book adds flesh and blood to the message of getting a plan for financial success. Although I am not financially sound at this time I know how to accomplish it and I am making progress through the methods in this book.

Summary: This book turned my finances around
Review: I really got a tremendous amount of insight from this book. It prompted me to make changes in the way I deal with money and debt that I think will last me for my lifetime. The book is based on a totally no-nonsense approach, and is filled with answers and reasons to combat the rationalizations we used that got us into debt. The book explains how one gets into debt and how to get out of it, without masking or sugar coating the effort involved. It is filled with charts, practical examples, and annecdotes one can apply to one's own situation. Don't be put off by the 12-step overtones -- it's subtle and totally disposable without robbing the book of its usefulness. A life-altering read. I highly recommend it. END

IT TEACHES YOU THE IMPORTANCE OF TAKING CARE OF YOU AND YOUR FAMILY FIRST. I NO LONGER CARE WHAT THE BANKS OR LENDING COMPANIES THINK OF ME, NOR DO I CARE WHAT MY CREDIT REPORT LOOKS LIKE. THIS BOOK WILL REALLY CHANGE YOUR LIFE. IT SHOULD BE REQUIRED READING FOR ALL HIGH SCHOOLS. Summary: Great Book
Review: I've purchased several books to help me eliminate debt for the new year, this is one of them. Like many people I'm entering a new year with debt that I've had for many years past. Locating hands on - concrete information from people who know or have been there done that is hard to find. I highly recommend this book as well as Surviving Financial Disasters. Both will surely answer any financial question you may have with out the normal BS most people give. Both authors provide enough information to help you get rid of the debt.

Summary: Please Read this Book If You are in Debt!
Review: If you are having problems with debt; if you have felt any shame or humiliation over your financial situation; if you keep hoping a miracle will come along and get you out of debt, this book is for you. This has given me more hope than I have ever had about my financial situation. I am a single women and have been going through more pain, torment and embarrasment about my finances than I can ever remember. This will help! Thank you Jerrold Mundis, I can't wait to read your next one.

Summary: I laughed, I cried...no, really, I did!!
Review: In deep debt and in the dark about what to do? Buy this tape! I've just begun my climb out of the mire of debt but I feel rejuvinated, hopeful and confident that this -- my third time -- will be the last time I let my debt quietly creep up to unmanageable amounts. If you're ready to "surrender" to the fact that you have a problem and want help, the narrator provides it in a way that is non-judgemental and without condemnation. I was genuinely touched by the sincerity, clarity and compassion of the narrative. I was emotionally moved by the fact that the guidance I really needed had arrived. On the other hand, the author, at times, is hilarious as he takes you down a very entertaining and extremely helpful path toward solvency. Thanks to this tape, I'm on my way out, and done with debt for good!
