Summary: Not A Good Cruise Read
Review: This book falls short of the style and humor we expect from Jennifer Cruise. All of the characters are unrealistic, including the dog,Marlene. When Nell comes to work for Gabe and Riley the plot starts developing neatly.Then the introduction of the other characters and further subplots started muddying the story-line. Nell's friends,Suze and Marge did not seem like real women with their peculiar men and their involvements in the various absurd situations that arose.Nobody seemed to possess a real personality and were almost one dimensional.Gabe and Nell's fights and the falling into bed became quite tiresome and went on much too long for me to believe that they could ever make.yet they ultimately did.This book became quite tedious;I had to work to get thru it and was glad to see the end..

Summary: Enjoyable, but no "Temptation" . . .
Review: I recently read Ms. Crusie's Welcome to Temptation and promptly read it all over again - to relive and savor this wonderful confection of a story! So I couldn't wait to read her other books. None unfortunately live up to Temptation, but I found Fast Women more engaging and alot funnier (at times, laugh out loud) than Tell Me Lies, Crazy for You and Manhunting. All of these books have glimpses of what she displays to perfection in Temptation, but none come close to it. I hope there are other works equal to Temptation still to come, but in the meantime, you could do alot worse than Fast Women, for a quick 'fix' of Crusie.

Review: I know that alot of people aren't thrilled with this book, but I really liked it! It is a quick and easy read, and the characters are funny. Crusie has a way of making things funny, like the dognapping scene. She also managed to weave things together in the murders. I recommend it!

Review: I haven't read all of Jennifer Crusie's books but did enjoy "Welcome to Temptation" very much. "Fast Women" was Ok. The book had momentum...I just expected more than I got. Uninteresting characters and simplistic plotting. If this was the first book of Crusie's I'd read, I probably wouldn't read another. Especially at hardback prices.

Summary: Fast women but loose story
Review: [...] I start out with a disclaimer, I enjoy Ms Crusie's books, I do I do, for I too, have bought her books hot off the press. This one left me confused as I thought the storyline became too disjointed. I enjoyed the beginning and had recommended it to a divorced friend after the first 100 pages. There are some close to home comments on marriage and life after. I am now hedging on the recommendation. First, what's up with the proof reader? On the first page there's a typo, which as a teaching assistant during my college years I got reamed for obmitting to correct a comma on the first page of a paper I was correcting for a professor. I am referring to,"Yes, I think you better to look into that," maybe picky but the first page??! Second, by the end of the book what exactly did Nell and Gabe resolve? When the lust fades what chance does their relationship have? Fighting constantly is not being strong it's just being wearing. Female leads from Ms Crusie's other novels were strong without the constant one ups-manship. I had hoped after Nell makes some correlations between her past marriage and her relationship with Gabe there would be some peace or at least I don't know, I guess I was looking for some hope besides the physical thing. Also what about Margie will she drink herself into oblivion as her personal life has been turned upside down with some rather shocking revelations. Finally the whole china conversation as to who was who, with the exception of the walking egg cups and their final symbolism, was too rambling with names being thrown in and out.....Now this review sounds harsh and that wasn't the intent. I envy Nell her friends both male and female and their ability to stick it out together. The story is a good read but I guess the author has spoiled me for I expected a great read, ah anticipation, I still look forward to her next book.

Summary: Not her best work
Review: Okay, maybe I am biased after reading Welcome to Temptation about a million times and it being the best book ever, but Fast Women fell short. It just wasn't as funny as her other books and didn't have the same can't-stop-reading energy, which makes it just another romance novel about a divorced woman finding herself. There were to many characters and all the subplots were way to confusing. This is not one of her best books. If you want a good book by Jennifer Crusie, go read anything else she has written.

Summary: Good....... but not as good as her others
Review: When I heard "Fast Women" was coming out in May, I raced to the library to reserve it. I could hardly wait to read it. But...much to my disappointment...the book had alot less appeal than her previous works. While I really enjoyed Nell, Suze and Margie...I sure could have done without Gabe and Riley and their daily business dealings. I think if this book would have been written primarily about the "girls" it would have been much more engrossing for me. I especially adored Marlene...bless her heart!!!! I will read Ms. Crusie's next title. I just purchased "Manhunting" and do believe I'll enjoy it alot.

Summary: For the Dog Lovers!
Review: Fast Women is hilarious. Jennifer Cruise has a remarkable style.I love dogs. When she describes Marlene's (the dog) wardrobe and attitudes, I just have to laugh. I also like the fact that the main characters are not 18. Ms Cruise writes about mature women with serious problems (somewhat exaggerated). The mystery was a little shallow. The hero did not sweep me off of my feet, but the rest of the group makes up for him. I found this story very entertaining. I became attached to most of the characters presented here. I have enjoyed all of Jennifer Cruise's work and this story is no exception.

Summary: Fast Women a disappointment....
Review: Be warned, this review may contain spoilers. I think the motto for the town this story takes place in should be "Share and Share Alike'. Most everyone seemed to be quite accepting of switching partners as long as it was for the right reasons. I am not a prude, but this had elements that left me uncomfortable. The fact that the main character Nell has a one night stand with Riley, then falls for Gabe yet no one seemed to think this odd. It is not the one night stand that bothers me--it's the fact Riley and Gabe are cousins--just seemed icky to me. Not to mention that Suze's heartache came from the fact that her husband cheats on her yet she had been the 'other woman'too. It felt hypocritical of Suze to then leave her husband for the same situation she had caused, an earlier wife of Jack's. Rather than feeling sympathy for Suze, I really felt she got a taste of her own medicine. Then Suze ends up falling for someone that her best friend Nell has slept with. Again, nobody thought this odd. Some other reviewer mentions the hot sex scenes, I didn't think the scenes between Nell and Gabe were very hot--it could have been because they were so irriating to one another. Lest you think I hated the book, let me say I did not. The opening scene was very funny, Ms. Crusie's humor is appreciated. And I did like the scene when everyone gangs up on Nell's ex.

Summary: Another blockbuster
Review: Jennifer Crusie scores another bestseller with Fast Women. I read this novel from cover to cover in less than 24 hours and enjoyed every single moment aside from the fact that the story does end. This novel has it all, laughter, hot/steaming love scenes, drama, suspense, murder and mayhem. What happens when two strong-willed controlling individuals get together? The sparks fly and Nell and Gabe stir up enough to start up their own passionate voyage into the world of romance. This novel has so much going for it that you won't want to miss out it.
