Summary: Favorite
Review: At our house we usually borrow books out of the library. When the book becomes a favorite, we buy the book for our home collection. Fireman Small is one of those favorite books. Both my son and daughter love it. The repetitive phrase, "He rolled up into Station Number Nine, walked upstairs two steps at a time..." is soothing to small ones. Each time he comes back to the station, his room gets messier and messier. Finally at the end, his friends ring the bell one last time to thank him for all his help and he finally gets to rest! You won't regret buying it. The illustrations are just average though.

Summary: great book, we recommend
Review: I bought A Small Christmas over the holidays and my son, 2 1/2 years old, really liked it. So, I looked to see what else the author had done. We chose Fireman Small and we've been reading it every day since we got it. My son calls is Fireman Small and the Wolf, because there's a picture of a wolf on the cover. The drawings are sweet, lots of different animals, Fireman Small is very dedicated to his job and the townsfolk all appreciate him. Cute repetitive text so your little ones can join in once they've heard it a few times. I think anyone would be pleased with this one.

Summary: Fireman Small
Review: Loved this book from the first time we read it with my boys...and that was 5 years ago. We all know all the words and love the simple story with its full range of emotions.
This one's a keeper, and I know my kids will one day enjoy reading it to theirs.

Summary: Perfect for the firefighter-obsessed toddler set
Review: My 2 1/2 yr old son loves this book about a diminutive firefighter who lives by the bay. There's just enough rescuing and extinguishing to satisfy his obsession with firefighters, yet the book avoids the didactic, detail-laden, wooden tone of so many books for young children about this topic. The rhyming, repetitive text makes this a nice bedtime book, and the lovely, folk-art-ish pictures are a great complement to the text.

Summary: My kids love it!
Review: My daughter (2), and son (4) love to read this book. It's fun for the parents to read as well. About a year ago my son became fascinated with firefighters. We bought this book in response to that interest. Not only did they enjoy hearing about Fireman Small, but he spends all day helping his friends and therefore is a good role model as well. The illustrations are nicely done. We've borrowed "Fireman Small Fire Down Below" from the library, and although we enjoy it, it's not as good as this one.

Summary: We know this book by heart!
Review: That's how many times we've read "Fireman Small," and we simply LOVE it. We first read it in 1996 to our oldest son, now 7, and he reads it to his little brother, now age 2. It's a wonderful, lively story about brave little Fireman Small, which also teaches cooperation, compassion and frienship. What an excellent book!

Summary: A Family Favorite!
Review: This book has been a favorite of my two sons, one now 6, the other 3 1/2, for years! It's one that both have enjoyed since the little one could sit and listen to stories. The best part is that we really enjoy reading the rhyming text, even as often as they ask. My sons' nursery school teacher asked to borrow it after we brought it in for story time, because she wanted to read it to the other classes! Now I'm buying it for gifts-for friends and the school!
