Summary: Romantic, Poignant, and Touching
Review: Nicholas Sparks knows how to tug at a reader's heartstrings. "Message in a Bottle" is a romantic, poignant, and touching tale of Theresa Osbourne and Garret Blake. Theresa, a 36-years-old single mother, works as a syndicate columnist in Boston. She randomly spots and picks up a bottle within which a letter Garret writes to his wife Catherine. Deeply touched by the love note, Theresa begins a quest for the man who concocts such sentimental words. She somehow secures another two letters with the same penmanship from a woman and a college professor. After much back-and-forth phone calls and internet searching, Theresa finally locates Garret Blake, who owns a diving shop in Wilmington. She decides to fly down and get to know this man. This tale is about overcoming the fear to love and letting go of the past. You will be touched by Garret's ever-changing feelings for Catherine and Theresa's perseverance to make the relationship work with Garret. Read for yourself. It's a page turner but you also want to absorb every tiny bit of emotion and sentiment emitted from Sparks' prose. Grab a cozy seat, have a drink, and begin a journey of love that will stir your heart. The ending is poignant yet you will always want to come back and read it again in the future. Good read. 4.5 stars.

Summary: Better Than The Movie
Review: I enjoyed this book and found it better than the movie. Often this is the case with me.....the written word is more to my taste. Would recommend it for those who enjoy this author's writing.

Summary: I liked it........
Review: I liked this book good, and easy reading. I will say if you've seen the film your missing a lot of things. I won't mention all but I highly suggest you read the book. So I will say you'll like this...

Summary: Quick but unsatisfying read
Review: This is the first Nicholas Sparks book I've read, but I wasn't too impressed. The story began well, the thought of someone finding messages in a bottle was intriguing. However, once Theresa meets Garrett the story seems to fall apart. It becomes much too simplistic and the characters become less interesting as the book goes on. I also found the ending to be too abrupt.

I plan to read more of his novels, hopefully they keep my attention longer.

Summary: Wake Me When It's Over
Review: This is the most boring book I've ever read. The plot is so unlikely I can't suspend my disbelief. The reader wishes everyone in the book would just drown. The writing is pedestrian, the dialogue soporific, the motivation irrational. If I submitted this manuscript to an editor under my by-line it would be rejected immediately.

I would have given it no stars, but that was not an option.

Summary: Dissapointed by ending
Review: This is the 2nd Nicholas Sparks book I've read (the first being A Walk to Remember). This book was quite dissapointing to me - the first half had nice character development and an interesting plot. Then the story started getting strange: they slept together on the 2nd date, the writing started getting repetitive, ect... Maybe the author was working on a strict deadline and the 2nd half was just finished too quickly to make much sense. Just my opinion!

Summary: My favorite Book by Nicholas Sparks!
Review: I've read The Notebook and A walk to remember but it was Message in a bottle that made me cry. It's the best romance novel i've ever read!

Summary: My favorite author
Review: Message in a bottle was the first Sparks book I read and I have been hooked ever since. Once I start reading one I can't put it down until it's done.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Smart, sensitive, and tragic
Review: A complete fan of the movie, now I'm reading the book. I know silly, but sometimes I do that. And I'm finding the differences, but I'm enjoying ever moment and loving it all over again.

Theresaa, a newspaper columnist, finds a "message in a bottle" and before she knows it is on a quest to find it's author, Garrett. And low and behold she does. And he is everything she could have hoped he would be. She falls in love. Despite their distant, they have a relationship over the miles. But something haunts Garrett, is it Catherine, his deceased wife, is it Theresa?

The story will tug at every heart string and pull harder and harder until you have to just reach for that tissue....trust me. And if you haven't seen the movie, the same thing will happen there too. The differences are slight. Changes in letters, in character genders, number of visits back and forth, and a family dispute....nothing noticeable.

Sparks is good, no doubt about it. Message in a Bottle is truly one of my favorite in print and on screen.

Summary: a quick read
Review: I thought this book was ok....the writing wasn't that good....I did like the story and I couldn't put it down...I wanted to find out what was going to happen....but I didn't like the ending which pretty much spoiled the entire book for me....
