Rating: Summary: Proper breathing has a major impact on your health Review: I have been suffering with a fatiguing illness for several years and have tried just about everything. I picked up Ken Cohen's Healthy Breathing on a lark and was so glad I did. This very easy to follow audio tape enables you to determine if you are breathing properly, and offers quick and easy exercises that will help you to make the most out of every breath you take! I won't say it has been a "cure" but it sure has helped!! Happy Breathing!
Rating: Summary: Conscious breathing WITHOUT interferring with Nature Review: My "practice" was stalled and what to do? At first, HEALTHY BREATHING, did not apppear to be the answer, in spite of my having great respect for Ken Cohen (I own CHI KUNG MEDIATIONS and am familar with several other of his materials. Fortunately I did not come up with any better ideas and so purchased it. It is Ken Cohen's thesis that: "We all have room for improvement". The tape starts with an awareness study to determine YOUR natural breathing, proceeds gently to shun hu xi--natural, freely flowing, breath or in Western terms--abdominal or diaphragmatic breathing, then proceeds to more advanced Dan tien breathing and finally is taken to the most advanced form of natural breathing--embryonic breath. Some ancillary exercises are included to help develop techniques and the tape ends with a free-form exploration of breath in order to learn to appy conscious breathing to various situations. How to work these exercises into daily activites is discussed, important points repeated, and the material is reviewed. But everything is presented in such a way, that the tape can be listened to profitably many times. HEALTHY BREATHING is not only an excellent instruction on breathing; but also is a concrete illustration of wu-wei: effort, without excess.

Rating: Summary: Learn how to breathe Review: While I thought this was going to be a ver extensive method with a lot of excercises, the 90 minute tape proves to be the contrary. It works as a basic reminder of how we are supposed to breath. This tape is about doing nothing but letting your body remember what nature has thought it. With a soothing voice, Ken leads you through the method filled with nice chinese-flute music and extensive advice. There's no breathing olympics here, just a tranquil, quiet system to regain consciuosness, peace and calmness.
