Summary: How can a man write such a telling story about a woman?
Review: I learned to love Delores and hated for this book to end. I have recommended it to all my friends. All women have lived parts of this characters life. We've all "come undone" at some time or another.

Review: I somehow could relate to this young woman's story - not that my weight has blossomed to hers. I guess I felt like I never really fit in during my adolescent years. She depicted those years so well.

Summary: Could be better...why the huge hairy deal?
Review: I read this book on a whim and a recommendation of someone I respect a great deal but who seems to dislike me a great deal. (We sort of avoid each other because I don't want to piss him off into hatred.) I tried to explain it and summarize it as an English assignment but the summary was 3 pages long. It's a complex book. It got mixed reviews, so I guess it's not for everyone. It gets a tad soap opera-y at times but I don't know if it ever varies from what could be a real person's life. I don't know if I'd generally recommend it, but if sexuality doesn't bother you and you love reading about eventual triumph, read it.

Summary: Incrediable
Review: This book was one of the best thingas that I have ever picked up. I was hesitant to read it when I first got it as a gift, but I eventually picked it up, then I couldn't bring myself to put it down. The way that a man could make it seem like he was a woman impressed me so much. THe feeling that was put into it was incridable By the end of the book I felt like I had grownn up with Dolores. I cried and laughed and felt her pain with her. This book was just abousolutly wonderful.

Summary: A good read, but what I would have done differently...
Review: I am in college and it is not too often that I get a chance for "fun" reading. However, I found time to read this stunning book. It didn't take long, but I slowed down at the end just so it would not end. The one problem I did have with the book is that she never confronted Jack face to face about what he did to her. He in a sense got away with it, and it continued to plague her for the rest of her life, and created intimacy issues that she needed to conquer. I would have been mad as hell and made sure he got what he deserved!! In short, this book was a great post-studying book, and I highly encourage you to read it, because there is a bit of Dolores in everyone. Thank You, Oprah!

Summary: This book was well writen from a man's point of view
Review: It is of our opinion that this book was very well written, and it shows how well of an author Wally Lamb is for being able to write in the third person the way he demonstates it in his novel. To read this book, takes the reader through an in depth look at the struggles of one young girl, and the reason behind it. All from having a weight problem, to not knowing how to express and deal with her anger. This book spans three decades of her life. After reading the book, we were left with a new perspective on how to view from a second person's perspective. Summary: Thought the book was great.
Review: It's hard to imagine someone who has been through what Delores has been through, but then that is why I read. I found the first half of the book very depressing. She could not get a break. I felt all of her problems came from her isolation. There was absolutely no one that she could honestly share her problems with or get any kind of advice from. She had to rely solely on her own experience - a rather dour prospect. As the book comes to an end, the character of Delores finally blossoms as she uses all of our life experiences to be so loving and empathetic to isolated people like herself - the Mr. Pesci's and Roberta's of the world. I was touched by the real family she finally created for herself. Bravo for Delores and Wally Lamb. I am looking forward to his next novel.

Summary: Dolores Price lingers long after the last page.
Review: I first read "She's Come Undone" almost four years ago and have re-read the book over a dozen times. Wally Lamb's debut novel is one of the most captivating books I have read during my lifetime of voracious reading. Moving, nostalgic, funny, it is a window into the pain that everyone must go through to ultimately come into their own. Dolores Price is one of the most authentic characters I've come across in quite some time. She becomes real to the reader, and it is likely that almost every woman can relate to her on some level, be it through the pain of sexual abuse, weight related issues, or simply feeling like a stranger in your own skin. The reader partners with Dolores throughout the torture and triumph in her challenging life. I came away from this book feeling as though I know Dolores as well as the people in my own life. The people in Dolores' life ring true, each with their own issues, flaws and strengths. This work has lingered with me (obviously, as I've re-read it so much) and I have recommended it to everyone I know, with great results. I eagerly await Lamb's next book, my only regret being that it won't be a continuation of Dolores' story. Read it, you will never forget it.
