Summary: Oh, What A Gal!
Review: "Gal" is an earthshaking book. It is a memorable experience. I read "Gal" as a book requirement for an elective course taken in college. However, even if not a requirement, I would have purchased the book. Not only did I read "Gal", but I shared it with my daughters. We laughed and cried at some of the passages in "Gal". We also became angry at some of the events that took place in Ruthie's life. Ruthie, 'Gal', was a courageous and strong willed girl, who endured much hardship, but made the best out of what life dealt her, and a true heroine. "Gal" makes you think. "Gal" makes you realize what can occur in life. "Gal" is revealing! "Gal" is a must read.

Review: Almost like the Color Purple. Well written. Good from the beginning to the end. Makes the reader want to reach out and give the writer a great big hug and say "It's gonna be alright girl." This book is so full of life and reality makes you appriciate your family more and more each day. This book teaches one how to forgive and forget, and that's not always easy especially when it has to do with your family!

Review: As I read this book I kept saying this cannot be true. I was shocked and horrified from the events that took place in Ruthie Bolton's life. Yet, I could not put the book down. I had to keep reading until I fell asleep. It is amazing. Five stars is not enough. This book deserves at least ten stars. Ruthie Bolton's strength and determination is something I will never forget. She will remain in my heart forever.

Summary: I found myself talking to the book.
Review: From the first page of this book I knew I was in
trouble. I joined a book club to lure me out of
my comfort zone. GAL was on the list. I had
never heard of it or the author. I got the book,
tried reading the book, became upset with the
author (who through no fault of her own had to
endure this humiliation), put the book down several times, and basically had to force myself to read
it. I was drained by the time I finished. I so wanted a happy ending but her life where she was
born remained the same. The day the book club was
supposed to meet was rainy. One person other than
myself showed up. I pleaded with her to stay so we couldtalk. I believe that had it not been for her, and
the people at work, my family and innocent passers-
by I would have needed therapy after reading this
book. Do I recommend it? Only for the strong.
Thanks for allowing me to vent my frustrations
over this book.

Summary: In Praise of "GAL"
Review: From the moment I picked up the book, I could scarcely tolerate even minor interruptions while I read it from cover to cover within the span of four hours! Since then, I have purchased the book for several female friends, with instructions that it must be passed on to other favorite sisters as a special treat. Contained within its pages are accurate (and timely) examples of love, greed, envy, lust, power, and worship of the money god. This book was so true-to-life, I felt I knew each character personally. I urge women everywhere to experience the rollercoaster ride through the life of Ruthie Bolton, because it will be an experience they'll never forget!

Review: Gal : A True Life is a story not to be missed. If you want to read a true emotional heartfelt story Gal is a story not to be missed.
I'd seen Gal in the bookstores for sometime and I'd alway thought I would pass. I am so glad two people finally convinced me to buy and read it . It was one that you will not want to put down it is a page turner.
While reading it I could not help and wonder how can a man( the grandfather) be so mean and cruel. He had no redeeming qualities even in the end. The sisters or aunts disappointed me so much in the end when they turned on her . Read the remarkable true story of Ruthie , for it is an awsome read.

Review: Gal continues to be a well kept secret. The book is superbly written. I am familiar with the Charleston, SC area. It is quite beautiful and serene. This book shows that no town is immune to tragedies. Ms. Bolton is to be commended for sharing such a painful period in her life. I am sure that writing this book has allowed her and her family to heal. Thank you for sharing and being courageous.

Review: Gal has been on my list to read for some months now. I'm so glad I finally decided to read this exceptional novel of courage, hope and determination. This story touched my heart and had me in tears by the end of the book. Tears of joy and tears of pain for Gal. True story of Ruthie (Gal) who suffered physical abuse by her grandfather as a child. I applaud Gal for strength and determination to move forward. What an amazing story. God's Blessings to Ruthie Bolton.

Review: Gal is a lovely story about a young woman had to endure a lot of hardships in her life. I think there is a lot to learn, like how much a woman can endure hatered and still love another person. I can't belive she really lived something like that. I can't belive anyone could. I would recomend it to anyone.
