Rating: Summary: Seuss at the top of his game Review: The best (in my opinion, of course) Dr. Seuss book. It has all of the music of his other writings, but (unlike some of his books) a compelling story as well. And what better message for your child to learn than "People are people, no matter how small."?
Rating: Summary: Good, but the colors were plain Review: The details in the illistrations aren't the best, and also the dark blue and the black text would make it hard for hte elderly to read to their grandchildren. It's a cute story, though, it encourages 'bigger' kids to help 'smaller persons'.
Rating: Summary: A gentle, loving tale of the wonderfully committed Horton Review: The model of commitment and loyalty, Horton the elephant personifies the true best friend we would all like to have. In this gentle and charming tale with clever illustrations and near-human facial expressions, Seuss has once again penned a timeless classic to be cherished for generations. The underlying theme "a person's a person no matter how small" is a reminder of just how precious life is, in Who-ville or anywhere else,--at age 2 or 102. This is a welcome addition to any child's library (and a nostalgic read for Moms and Dads as well). With stories that never go out of style, Seuss himself joyfully lives on...
Rating: Summary: Very Disappointing Review: There was no tipoff in the Amazon description telling me that this video was only moderately animated. I remember a fully animated version from when I was a kid and this was not it. My little boy, who loves being read the story, didn't care very much for this.Hoffman's character accents kept changing throughout his narration. The audio quality was muffled and sometimes hard to understand. Personally, I don't understand why this format of animation is even used. Except that you can put your kid down and walk away, there is no heightening of the experience over simply reading the book. I gave it a second star because it is a terrific book and the video presentation of the book can't be all bad based purely on the subject matter. If the fully animated version is available, that would be my preference.
Rating: Summary: Has anyone else thought of this? Review: This is a terrific book, and I am one of the oodles of Americans reared on Suess's poetic and artistic stylings. It almost doesn't need reviews. I mean, who doesn't know about it? (...)My own personal take on the work is that it is a wonderful parable of the plight of the unborn. (...)
Rating: Summary: This book is a classic, no matter how small. Review: This is another book by Dr. Seuss that time and lots of little hands wore out my copy of the book before it could wear out the tale. Horton the Elephant (of egg hatching fame) is back again in this gentle tale. This time the elephant that's faithful one hundred percent is the only one who hears the inhabitants of Who-ville. Which just happens to exist on a speck of dust. Too small to have people? "A person's a person, no matter how small", Horton steadfastly maintains. A great book about having faith and determination. Lots of color pictures and easy to read words make it enjoyable for early readers and non-readers alike. Even older readers won't mind reading this tale again and again.
Rating: Summary: Not what you think Review: This is not the beloved video that many parents may remember watching when they were kids. This is simply a bunch of cutouts prancing mechanically across the screen. OK, maybe, for a 2 year old, but pre-readers will not enjoy.

Rating: Summary: No music, very little animation Review: This video was a reading of the book instead of the fully animated version with the catchy music that I remember seeing as a child.
Rating: Summary: disappointing Review: Very disappointing! It was more like a still picture collection rather than a video. I was looking forward to sharing the Video with my daughter the one I saw as a child. This was a different version with little to no animation.
