Summary: Real Communication, Really Fast!!
Review: A former US diplomat from the San Francisco Bay Area , August 26, 1999 'Language Dynamics courses are the only courses I know of that are truly dedicated to effective and immediate communication in the target language. Academic courses often reflect the literary interests of professors, many of whom never had the experience of learning the target language as a second language. With these courses, you can hit the streets after every lesson knowing you can say more than you could yesterday'.

Summary: A Real Bargain * Excellent Course
Review: How delightful it was for me to find 748 French Sentences.
The clear voices and the easy to use format is just what I needed to really begin to speak practical French. The production quality and diction of the speakers is superb and the choice of vocabulary (highly relevant and conversational) makes this course a real find and a MUST BUY.

Review: I mainly ordered this item to build confidence in my pronunciation. (I have had several years experience with French and can understand it when in France and can read it very well---but that is all unnecessary for these tapes.)

My only complaints are that it would have been nice to have several native speakers because everyone speaks a little differently, and that a truly new student might want a very basic booklet, to make a visual connection.

Very easy to use. Those who are looking for an introduction to the language won't get lost and I'm pretty sure that after several sessions with these tapes, anyone would have the basics for an intuitive understanding of French. They really work well towards the 'reflex' reaction to the language.

Summary: you get what you pay for
Review: I was less impressed than others by these tapes. They are not much use if you want to use them in the car, as they are recorded at such a low sound level it is necessary to turn the volume all the way up to hear, and then you get alot of tape hiss. The English-speaking man keeps saying "real good" throughout the tape, making me less confident of the grammar in the French sentences considering the clearly American speaker cannot even speak English. The French speaker speaks so slowly, and with so little accent, that understanding her will not likely translate into understanding an actual French person. If you don't know any French, and you don't have much money, and you have a quiet place to listen to the tapes, these might be worth the money, but don't expect to speak functional travel French in the end. If you are like me and hoping to brush up on your high school and college French for a trip abroad, these were not alot of help-- the first tape is EXTREMELY basic and the second one teaches you how to ask every question three different ways instead of picking one and running with it. They are cheap, but you will be reminded of that every second you listen to them.
