Summary: Often imitated, never duplicated....
Review: As a huge fan of Jackie Collins, I was eagerly awaiting this novel. It was written in her distinctive style, which has been imitated often. I was a tad disappointed that the plot strayed so far from the original Hollywood Wives tome, but was happy to renew my aquaintance with some old friends...er, charcters. Thought the slang was a lttle overdone, however. I'm 22, and swear I don't speak like that! Was a great read for a true Jackie Collins fan, and one I know I'll enjoy reading again.

Summary: hurry up henry I AM GOING OFF THE BOIL
Review: At last the world as a book to stand shoulder to shoulder with E F HARPERS ..GROWING , LOVING AND NEEDING YOUR GINGER BEER YEAST .From page one we are led by the nose ring into the erotic and often disturbing world, of the hollywood clay pipe collecters . By the end of chapter 7 I was convinced that the family next door but one, were all infact chipmonks in cunning disguise . You have done it again miss COLLINS ,now my feet are unwilling to translate the the works of HOMER for me . I for one look forward to her next book with baited fishing line .

Summary: Beating a dead Arabian with a Gucci whip
Review: Back in the eighties, I adored Jackie Collins' novels. Sure, they were short on plot and long on name-dropping, but they were always fun to read. Not anymore, though. Judging by her last few novels, including "Hollywood Wives: The New Generation," it seems as though Collins is merely recycling the same tired plot, albeit with new trends and recently fashionable caterers. Take one mega-famous woman, one mega-famous guy, throw in a smart adolescent and a power couple with a thirty-year age difference, add a psychopath, mix with a little sex and shopping, change the names and voila! She can't even come up with original titles any more. We had the first "Hollywood Wives," then "Hollywood Husbands," then "Hollywood Kids," now this one. What's next, "Hollywood Pets?" (We will not talk about the Lucky Santangelo books, Collins' other abused equine.) Collins' dialogue is horrendous, and she must absolutely worship Madonna, considering that most of her recent novels contain a Madonna clone (here it's Lissa Roman). You're better off re-reading "Lucky," "Chances," or the original "Hollywood Wives" then spending any time or money on this novel, because those were the last books she wrote that were actually readable.

Summary: Couldn't Put It Down
Review: Granted, Jackie Collins is not the best writer in the world, and she doesn't pretend to be. Her characters are cliched and their dialogue is at times painful to read. What she does write here, however, is a juicy page turner, a delicious guilty pleasure. I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next, and when I got to the end I was satisfied, yet sad that the adventure was over. This is definitely one of Collins' best novels in a long time. Still, nothing has been able to top the original Hollywood Wives for interesting characters, shocking surprises and jaw-dropping twists and turns.

Summary: Great Beach Read
Review: Great book. Characters are well-developed. As in most JC books, some characters you love to hate. Plot is good, if not somewhat slow. However, JC delivers as usual ... "sex, drugs and rock-n-roll." You will not go wrong with this book. Enjoy! Check out JC's other books they are all great!

Summary: great summe read
Review: Hollywood superstar Lissa Roman thinks her fourth spouse Gregg Lynch is seeing another woman. Lissa puts up with a lot from her men, but refuses to accept womanizing. Will she toss Gregg out of her life?

Lissa's daughter Nicci feels confused between her fiance Evan Richer and her future brother-in-law Brian. She loves both of them yet finds she is more attracted to Brian. Will she choose Brian over Evan?

Lissa visits private investigator Michael Scorsinni to make inquiries into Gregg's philandering. When Lissa and Michael first meet, a spark ignites, but both keep the relationship strictly business. Michael has tapes of Gregg's cheating and promises to handle everything required to throw him out of Lissa's home. Will Lissa and Michael follow up on that initial attraction?

Meanwhile ex-con Eric Vernon sets a plot in motion to kidnap Nicci. He pretends to be gay to attain information from Lissa's assistant Danny and begins to follow Nicci to learn her habits. Will Eric succeed in abducting Nicci?

Jackie Collins is a strange phenomenon that defies the logic of literature. Though the readers know its fluff, Ms. Collins somehow hooks you for no logical reason into a one-sitting read in which you feel totally entertained but not sure why. The HOLLYWOOD WIVES -- THE NEW GENERATION fits that classification as the story contains two intriguing major subplots and three other unnecessary but enticing minor subplots. Ms. Collins has done it again, as her fans will savor her latest contemporary fiction. Will the audience finally understand why we love Ms. Collins?

Summary: Great Summer Reading!!!!
Review: Hollywood Wives - The New Generation is my favorite summer read so far! I love the fact that Michael Scorsinni is back from Hollywood Kids. All the new characters are the usual Collins mix of glamour, power and sex! I highly recommend this book. Jackie as usual has outdone herself again!

Summary: I wonder if she wrote this or not!!!!
Review: I am a big fan of JC. VERY big. I have read all of her books and she never fails to amaze me. I especially like how she writes solely about California folks and not your everyday hillbilly. This book was not as up to par as some of her others.....although I did really like Lissa and Nicci and Brian. I will never fail to pick up another JC novel in the future!!!

Summary: Pretty Cool! I liked it!
Review: I can't believe anyone would critisize this book! It's got all the ingredients we crave! Sex, power, money, affairs, greed, hollywood happenings, celebrities. I enjoyed it MUCH better than last years novel. I liked the new & old Characters. I looked forward to reading it, and most of the time lost TOO much sleep being consumed by the book! I was VERY pleased to see some old characters in this book pop up. The truth about Montana, I ALWAYS susspected, (but Jackie always keeps us guessing). I strongly identified with the main character in the book: Lissa Roman, her past and mine have alot in common. THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THIS BOOK, is something EVERYONE needs to learn. The character Michael Scorsinni explains about Lissa going back to her "COMFORT ZONE". This is TRUE psychology, and it has changed my entire life, and hopefully all of you out there who will read the book. It was a great read, VERY good ending, NOT predictable AT ALL, I only have ONE little complaint. I liked the new character Taylor, but I don't like what I read on page 305. I think some things are better left unsaid. This book even mentions Lucky Santangelo, which to this day, I STILL watch my LADY BOSS Video every couple of months. THANKS JACKIE! CAN'T WAIT TILL YOUR NEXT BOOK! YOU ARE THE MOST TALENTED WRITER, AND WE LOVE YOU! :)

Summary: A Fun Read
Review: I had this book in my pile of books waiting to be read, don't know why I didn't get to it sooner. I loved all the characters in this book, I wanted so much for everyone to get what they wanted and the jerks to get what they deserve, the only complaint I have about this book is that the ending was to rushed but all in all a fun read.

Happy Reading
Lisa
