Rating: Summary: i feel great now! Review: it's nice that someone as expert in the field of nutrition and public health as gary null is has released a book about how we can all live healthier lives in body, mind, and spirit. i've really enjoyed flipping through this book for the highlights and look forward to reading it in more detail.
Rating: Summary: okay but wait... Review: The goals of the book area laudable but I find it very frustrating to read. The diet directions are very general and scattered; they seem very unorganized. I found a lot of contradictory information such as a quote from a doctor saying it's impossible to loose more than a pond of fat in a week and then 2 or 3 pages later several testimonials as to how people lost more than 2 pounds of "weight" in a week (averaged)on Null's diet: well which is it? Also, he recommends eating with canola oil (a Frankenfood type product). There were other concerns but I do not have the book in front of me. He seems to make many claims without telling you why it is so. While reading the book I wondered if someone made a fake copy and I was reading it. I expected so much more from this book. However, overall I see it for the good it is trying to accomplish and still recommend the book: I just do not see it as very "solid" in instruction. I wish it was better formatted as to how to do what he says. It basically recommends a vegetarian diet and more live foods (vegetable, fruits, sprouts, lentils) while cutting out dairy/wheat. I found the recipes to be very odd mixes. I got a few ideas from it but they are "weak as water" recipes. It is neat that he recommends getting a balance not only in the diet, but also in the home environment, emotional, physical, and spiritual. I may need to read it twice.

Rating: Summary: Lost 15 pounds Review: The information in Gary's new book is so valuable. He not only explains what you need to eat in order to be healthy, but also gives recipes so that we can make the transition from an unhealthy diet to a healthy one easily. I look forward to his next book. Incidentally, I've lost 15 pounds since I began utilizing the information in the book and I DON'T count calories and I DON'T follow a strict, high protein regimen like some other people might suggest. I sleep better, have more energy, and my skin is RADIANT.

Rating: Summary: Overwhelmed Review: This book is filled with information, but Gary has made this book too sophisticated for the average lay person. This truly is for the person who has lots of time and desire to work at eating. I need to simplify my life not complicate it with specialty food items. I felt lost and overwhelmed.
Rating: Summary: Ultimate Lifetime Diet Review: This book is so clear and concise. Itdiscusses potential problems and what to do about them. There has been a history of cancer in my family. There is down to earth information as to what foods are harmful and what are healthy foods. It certainly confirmed to me that it is important to change my diet. Most of all, I'm fancinated by the "thirty day" diet plan along with the specific recepies that are given in the book. I've tried most of them and find them delicious and a terrific way to loose weight in a sensible way. I highly recommend this book to everyone who is concerned about their health and want to take steps to be in charge of their life. I take my hat off to another great book by Gary Null.
Rating: Summary: Longest bibliography in history Review: This is the first book I read where the bibliography is half the book. The information given in the book is rehashed from his other books. He is churning out books at a rate of 2 or 3 a year. I guess you can do that when every book has the same information. I like Gary. I have been to many of his lectures and was a member of a support group he had. Unfortunately his books don't live up to his lectures and radio show.
