Rating: Summary: Enjoyable but predictable Review: This was a page turner with alot of suspense. Some of it was predictable but it was a well organized story. Not as good as some of the Mary Higgins Clark. Nice Christmas story that would make a great t.v. movie.
Rating: Summary: Readers Responce Review: Silent Night by Mary Higgens Clark was an excellent book! I had never read a book by Mary Higgens Clark, but now she's my favorite author, and I can't wait to read more! The way that Mary Higgens Clark wrote kept me hooked through out the entire book, it really made me use my imagination! The book is about a family at Christmas time in New York visiting their father who is in the hospital. When a special present for the father is stolen by a woman, the youngest boy follows her only to get into alot of trouble. With passages from the book like:"He wanted to get to the hospital and watch Mom give Dad the big St. Christopher medal that had saved his Grandpa's life when he was a soldier in World War II." and, "He stuck the gun back inside his jacket, then reached down and roughly pulled Brian to his feet.",it is evenly kindhearted, yet suspenseful. This book is great for readers of all ages! If you don't like being anxious, or suspended this book maynot be for you.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Book!!! Review: Silent Night was an excellent book. I am very glad that I read it. Silent Night is a novel about a woman who's husband is diagnosed with leukemia. Catherine Dorman, the main character in the story, and her husband take their two young sons to New York during the Christmas season so that Tom, Catherine's husband, can have an operation that will hopefully save his life. When Catherine is worried about her sons, she takes them to Rockefeller Center to see the famous Christmas tree to get their minds off of their father's illness. As the three are standing around listening to people singing on the street, Brian, the youngest of the two boys, see's his mother drop her wallet, which contains a special momento that the boys' grandmother had given them. The Saint Christopher medal had saved their grandfather's life, and the boys and their grandmother believe that it would save Tom's life now. When Brian is anable to tell his mother that she has dropped her wallet, he follows the woman that picked it up as soon as it hit the ground. He follows her through the city, down streets and subways. He follows her into her apartment building. From the moment that he takes that step to follow that woman, he is faced with situations, that could cost him his life as he tries as hard as he can to retrieve that medal and bring it back to his father's bedside, so that it could save his life. Silent Night is a book that you can not put down. Each time you pick it up, it takes all you can do to not put it down. It is definatly a "page-turner". Mary Higgins Clark knows just the topics and words to attract people of all ages to this book. I would recommend this book to anyone! It is an excellent book!
Rating: Summary: Made for TV fluff Review: This book reads like one of the worst made for TV movies. The plot was entirely predictable. Zero character development. At best I would recommend this for a 10 year old.
Rating: Summary: Masterful Review: A very special story about the power of love and a child's faith and courage. Catherine Dorman's husband is very sick with leukemia and must go to New York for a life saving operation. Catherine decides to take her sons with her to lesson their fears about their father. On Christmas Eve Catherine takes her sons to see Rockefeller Center's famous Christmas tree. As they are stopped to listen to street music Brian the youngest son sees a woman take his mother's wallet, which has a very special gift. Brian, not able to get his mother's attention decides to follow the woman and get his mother's wallet back. Brian is headed for a journey that will threaten his life. I have read all of Mary Higgins Clark's titles. I feel she is a master at what she does. She is a favorite of mine and always will be.

Rating: Summary: Great Mystery Review: This book was full of actoin, mystery, but on the other hand it was a little scary. The author draws you in, and makes you want to jump into the book and help out the characters. There are all of these different scenes, so you know what is happening; however, the people in the story don't. Silent Night wasn't as long as the author's other books, but it's long enough to leave you satisfied. Silent Night is definently recommended from me.
Rating: Summary: Mystery Review: Before any young adult decides to become a Dective or PoliceOfficer, they should read this book first. This is a great way to showyoung readers how to solve a real crime by using every specific detail and information. Because there was a crime to solve in this book, and I felt the strength to hold on if it happens in real life. END
Rating: Summary: Silent Night Extra Credit Review Review: I thought this book was very excellent. It begins off when a mother takes her two children to New York to see the Rockerfeller Center Christmas Tree. Ctherine, the mother is on the sidewalk listening to a singer, when she drops her wallet. A lady picks it up and starts to run to her apartment. Brian, Catherine's son follows Cally to her apartment to get the wallet back, because inside of it, there is a St. Christopher medal. Brian and his brother were going to give it to their father, who is in the hospital with Leukemia. Brian chases the lady for quite some time and finally reaches her apartment. He follows her in. Cally sees the young child and is wondering what is he doing in my apartment. She knew she shouldn't have taken the wallet. Cally's brother, Jimmy was there also, and he threatned to take the boy and go to Canada. By this time, Cally and her brother both knew that the wallet belonged to the little boy's mother. Cally gave back the wallet to Brian. Meanwhile, Jimmy, who is an escaped convict, took Brian, stole a car, and drove to Canada to see his girlfriend. The whole story revolves around trying to get Brian back to his mother before Christmas and for him to get the medal to his father. In my opinion, this is one of the best books I have ever read, and I rate it a five star. It was very simple for me to follow along.
Rating: Summary: No need for snow to enjoy this one! Review: I loved this book and it was absolutely perfect to read in less than a weekend's time. I couldn't put it down! This one is a little bit different than most of Mary Higgins Clarks' books as there are no questions as to "who-dunnit?" (wondering who the killer was). Mary Higgins Clark just has a way of keeping you up all night until you finish one of her suspense-filled books. I enjoyed the character "Brian Dorman". What a little hero. We need more children in the world like him. The only thing he was worried about was getting that "present" back for his Dad so that it would help save his life. Risking his own life and safety...what a trooper! This book definitely gets "5 stars" and my high recommendation.
