Rating: Summary: After the first 3, the 4th is quite boring and redundant. Review: As the series progresses, more and more 'mysticism' becomes the driving force behind the book, thus getting further and further from an entertaining, perhaps educating, story. Also, the constant regurgitating of facts for a reader that has not read the previous ones wears thin. The series should have been 1 book--I think the author's profits or delusions of a 'saga' series ruined it. I can't read the last 50 pages--I'm completely bored.
Rating: Summary: Absolute rubbish! Review: I didn't realise this was book four of a series when I picked it up. Not to worry, it is so bad I can't read beyond about three or four chapters, and for me that means that the book is just abysmal. Thank the lord I didn't buy the set of them! To be avoided like the plague, it is one of those books best enjoyed by the fire - as it burns!

Rating: Summary: DISAPPOINTING Review: I ENJOYED THE PRIOR BOOKSIN THIS SERIES VERY MUCH. I WAS INTRIGUED BY THE COMPLEX PLOTS AND SUB-PLOTS. AFTER KEEPING THEM GOING FOR SEVERAL VOLUMES, I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED TO SEE HOW THEY ARE ALL RESOLVED IN THIS VOLUME IN SUMMARY FASHION, AS IF THE AUTHOR BECAME TIRED OF THEM. THE RESOLUTIONS WERE UNSATISFACTORY AND HIS DESCRIPTION OF MOSES AND THE EXODUS WAS INACCURATE AND OFFENSIVE.

Rating: Summary: An excellent well-written story of Ramses Review: I have now read all 4 books (so far) and can not wait to read the 5th. In this book we find out what becomes of Dolora, Shannar and Moses. The only disappointment was that Ramses' wife Nefertari died in the end and the reader is left with a genuine feeling of loss at her death - that is how well Mr. Jacq writes. Those of us who do not have such writing talents and imagination really appreciate your fine novels of the Ancient Egyptian era. Keep up the good work!
Rating: Summary: A loyal fan in New York Review: I have read all 4 English translations and I absolutely love this series. I just finshed "Lady" today, and I think that Jacq really paints a wonderful fictional picture of intrigue, romance and in this edition, sorrow. Ramses undergoes a great deal of hardship. I think that the Exodus could have been explained much better and that the ending did not provide much insight into the final edition, but overall, this has been an excellent work. I recommend the series for the avid Egyptologist, or someone jus looking for a an exciting, quick read.

Rating: Summary: Fascinating true historical romance Review: I have read all four English traslations of the Ramses series and this one is every bit as good as all the rest. I will be very happy if volume 5 introduces some new characters though. I highly recommend starting at the beginning of the series to get full benefit of character development.
Rating: Summary: Best Ramses book Yet Review: I have read all of the other Ramses book and I think this one is the best. So many problems came up, and so many problems were solved. If you're wondering what happens to Shaanar, Ofir and Moses read this Ramses.
