Summary: "Fantastic story--until the 'grand finale'"
Review: This was the third Koontz book I've read, and for the most part, the best yet. I was fascinated by the villain, Junior (Enoch) Cain. His role was that of a narcissistic, egotistical, megalomaniac. Throughout the book comments were made about his resolve to be above other men, and actually live in the future, rather than the past or present. He studied a ficticious motivator named Caesar Zedd. Junior felt that he was desired by every woman he came in contact with. After murdering his wife, he felt justified to kill anyone who meddled with his plans. The other key player in the book was a child prodigy named Bartholomew. Bartholomew had the power to visit parallel worlds, and understand complex situations--even at a very young age. A pesky--unrelenting detective, Thomas Vanadium, suspecting that Junior had murdered his wife, rather than watching her fall to her death, continued his vigil. As he watched Junior as he slept, junior used the word 'Bartholomew'. When Junior awoke, Vanadium informed him of his verbal dream. In order to find peace in his life, Junior vowed to destroy this nemesis, the unknown Bartholomew. Many wild twists and turns accompany this tale, most of which I left out. It was great to read that each time Junior killed somebody, he suffered plagues: vomiting, diarrhea, hives, and boils. After killing his wife, he was never at peace, regardless of how much he looked for it. I was hoping all of the families he so recklessly destroyed would have made his life and death more gruesome. I questioned how he located those victims who relocated to southern California so quickly, as well as; where were all the cops during his killing frenzy? On the brighter side, Dean Koontz has such an outstanding literary ability, it makes it a delight to read his books. I recommend this one, and I'm sure I'll read more.

Summary: Hard to get interested in
Review: This is the first book by this author that I've read. I heard him on Art Bell's program last week and thought I would check him out.

I had a hard time getting interested in the characters and then it got worse. I didn't care what happened to any of them really and ended up skimming through it just to see how it ended.

Not my cup of tea.

Summary: what climax?
Review: Very strange book indeed. One of my favorite Koontz books was 'Ghost's' and I've been reading him over the years for light hearted topical suspense.
This is what happened to me w/ this book... I got to the *cherished* climactic end -- and had little idea I was there! Reason? Uneven pacing, benign characters, and a goody-two shoes plot line that finally numbed me. I actually got to the end, saw 'author's note' and realized I had just cruised thru the last chapter. But truly, the last chapter, last paragraph could have been re-written half way through the darn book with out to much effort. Generic, oft-repeated lines of thought, and a lack of a closure or final "Oh -yeah.. ah-hah!" that we usually get.
I like you Dean, but let's get back to basics!

Summary: Am I missing something??
Review: This book was a major letdown. The characters are diverse to the point of being ridiculous, and equally unreal. The antagonist (Junior) was impish and his ultimate demise (really...i'm not giving anything away here...Koontz's entire antagonists line-up all end up on the losing end) was a colossal letdown. It's time Koontz stop churning out cookie cutter novels and take some time to write a decent book, like his book Lightening.

Summary: a proof that changes can be a good thing
Review: Quite different from Koontz's previous novels... in the good way!!
I always loved the way Koontz cruises between a number of completely different stories only to tie them together at the end in a superb and mostly unexpected way. That always kept me on the edge and divided between the urge to read the next turn on story #1 (by jumping a few pages) and the growing curiosity to follow all the others equally captivating story lines.
But this time he really did it: instead of leaving you curious about what will happen next, he just goes on and, right at the end of each chapter, tells you that the character you were getting to like so much will drop dead?!?!? How can a sane person put down the book now before finding out how in God's name that happened and what will come out of it?? Talk about anti-climax!!
Absolutely captivating characters which reminded me of those in the very first Koontz's novel I read: Watchers (the one that got me hooked for good).
I'm glad I got the hardcover 'cause this is a keeper.

Summary: Spellbinding!
Review: "From the Corner of His Eye" by Dean Koontz is absolutely spellbindng. Good versus evil, hero versus villain. And there is more than one hero in this book! I was fascinated with the way Mr. Koontz allows us to peek into the mind of an evil, deranged killer, walk with him, see what he sees, feel what he feels, think what he thinks. Just perfect! I did not want this one to end!

Summary: A Shining Masterpiece!
Review: This story is a slick cliffhanger that will keep you in suspense. Ultimately one of the best good versus evil thriller I have ever read.In a unique introduction Koontz weaves a great tale of how fate ties two families together to fight off the ruthless psycho-killer known as Junior Cain. A very exciting read that will keep you wanting more of the horror and semi-sci-fi action.

Summary: this boring book
Review: This was the most boring book i have ever read. i do not recomend it to anyone. The three different storines in one book about the same person is very stupid. I think dean koontz was on drugs or something when he wrote this book. i didnt even want to read the rest of it it was so boring. steven king is a much better writer if you want a good book to read pick up a steven king book!

Summary: nancy's review on the koontz book from the corner of his eye
Review: I thought that this was a pretty intresting book. The things that had happen you probably wouldn't of guessed would of happened. Like in the beginning of the book when junior killed his wife Naomi, no one ever exspected that. Then how Junior became this really awful person, we found out that he had a lot of bad passed and also a bad future. Vanadium was a good character to be used in this book, because you didn't know what he was going to do or when he was going to apear. Angel and Barty ended up being Junior's evil enemys because they sent him into a different world. Over all I thought this book was really good, and I would enjoy reading more of his books.
