Rating: Summary: A Very Loving and Successful Book Review: Recommendation I recommend this book to anyone who likes to dive into really good books filled with both love and suspense. I believe that the narrator was trying to show the similarities between the love and suspense when Judd Travers was trying to show the love towards Marty's family by giving them a squirrel, that he hunted down and shot for them. 'Brought you something', Judd says. ''Ma opens a sack that Judd is holding and finds a squirrel that dad says will go nicely with some stew.'' The scene that shows suspense involved the town people trying to get to the top of a mystery. The scene was when David told Marty that the man that's outside at night with the light, always seems to be looking for something. 'Marty, I think the man that's outside with the light, might be looking for a body or something', David said.
Rating: Summary: Saving Shiloh Book Reveiw Review: Saving Shiloh Book Review I finished Saving Shiloh, a very good book. It `s about a boy, Marty Preston and his dog Shiloh. Marty earned his dog by working for Judd. Judd was not very nice to Shiloh in the first book, Shiloh. Marty lives in West Virginia with his family. Shiloh learns to love and rescue at the same time. This book helped me learn that no matter who you're with, you should be thankful. My favorite part was when Shiloh finally trusted Judd. Phyllis Reynolds Naylor wrote Saving Shiloh in a novel format. All animal lovers will love this book. I really loved this book. That`s what made me decide that I should be a Vet, to help animals, especially dogs. I hope you like it as much as I did.
Rating: Summary: perfect way to end the triology! Review: Saving Shiloh was an excellent book and it was really touching, especially when Shiloh jumped in the water to save Dara Lynn! And it was amzing how such a bad souled person like Judd Travers could turn into such a kind hearted one.
Rating: Summary: A complete waste of time. Review: Summary of Saving Shilough: An idiot boy who has no grammer sense ranting on about how his poor, suffering dog was abused by his previous accursed owner. Then he finds out that his old accursed owner isn't so accursed any more. This is an extremely boring and pointless book. Honestly, any book where the main plot is about a boy who simply can't stop feeling sorry for his dog and wishing his sister would "Fall into a hole and take the dirt with her (traslation: go to hell)" is a pretty worthless, time-wasting book.
Rating: Summary: I CANNOT DESCRIBE IN WORDS HOW MUCH I LOVED THESE BOOKS! Review: The "Shiloh" trilogy itself is the best, I mean BEST books I have ever read in my LIFE! I'm not kidding! They were terrific! I felt like I was IN the story. The writer, Phyllis Reynolds Naylor, should get the "Best Author of the Millenium" award (there isn't really a "Best Author of the Millenium" award, but if there was one, Phyllis Reynolds Naylor should get it!). Do you hate books? If so, these ones will certainly change your mind! I don't know how I will find a book as good as these...*sigh*.This series is in the order of: "Shiloh" "Shiloh Season" and "Saving Shiloh" NOTE: If you don't read these books in order they were written, they won't make much sense...
Rating: Summary: Saving Shiloh Review: The book I am reviewing is Saving Shiloh. This book is by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor. This book was one of the best books I ever read. The best character was Marty. He is very adventure, brave, and suspicious. He knows something is wrong with his neighbor. And the weird thing is that Shiloh the dog used to be owned by the neighbor. Marty cared a lot for his dog. He always cared for him by feeding ad playing with him. On of the best parts was when Marty saved Shiloh from getting away. I don't want to give too much away but you should really read this book. Also read this book if you love adventures in your story.
Rating: Summary: A Kid Who Risks His Life For A Dog Review: The main character is Marty. He loved the dog when he first saw him, and he named it Shiloh. His family wouldn't let him keep the dog because it was Judd's dog. I like this book because it talks about dog's having a big friendship with humans. The part I didn't really like is when some humans abuse their dogs only because they do not obey their orders.
Rating: Summary: A CONTINUUM OF LOVE -- A CHRISTIAN STORY Review: The Shiloh trilogy is, without doubt, the best dog stories in creation. Phyllis Reynolds Naylor draws very real, believable characters that one can readily recognize and relate to. Her protagonist, Marty, exemplifies true Christian values when he is able to forgive Judd Travers. Villianizing Judd and making him a ready scapegoat would have been easy. It is to this author's credit that she protrays Judd as a tragic figure who has fallen on hard times and who has let the shadows of his past dictate the decisions he has made in his life. Making a hero out of Marty would have been too easy. Instead, the author shows a realistic, lovable boy who takes on major responsibilities. Marty grapples with the twin challenges of hatred for Judd and wanting to do the right thing, which is to help the man when he clearly needs it. He acknowledges these feelings and works hard to overcome them as he does now own Judd's hound, Shiloh. The beautiful little hound has a near-miss with death and Judd Travers saves his life. It is in the bond, this common love for the beagle that Marty is able to forgive Judd his cruelties and lesser foibles and Judd can start making peace with his life. There is nothing pat or simplistic about this story -- it will resonate in one's heart and conscious long after the last page is turned. It is a continuum of love -- Marty's love for his family and Shiloh, his acceptance and forgiveness of Judd Travers and Shiloh's unconditional love for the men who saved his life. It is a joyous moment in literature to see Marty own the delightful little beagle once and for all. Please read the "Shiloh" trilogy. You'll be very glad you did.
Rating: Summary: Because Judd hurt his leg, he might be a good person. Review: There have been thefts in the town, and people think Judd did it. But Marty thinks Judd has improved his ways. Then there is a theft at Marty's house. Could it be Judd? I liked the book very much, but not as much as "Shiloh" or "Shiloh Season". (Review by a fifth-grader).
Rating: Summary: One of the best stories about a boy and a dog. Review: This book can give insperation to the reader. I love how close the boy and his dog are and the fact that no one can sepearate the two. The characters did a fantastic role in the story. I thought that everyone had a special part in the book that made it special.
