Rating: Summary: just fabulous Review: I knew before i started reading it that it was going to be an excellent book, i mean it's Jackie Chan who doesn't like him. Personally I love the man. I have seen all of his movies and read all of his books, plus more. He went through a lot of hardships and still managed to get through the hard times that can fall on some of us.
Rating: Summary: Simply Excellent!! Review: I wasn't even a Jackie Chan fan. I haven't even seen any of his "good" movies yet . . . but I'm so impressed with the book, its content, messages, writing style . . . but most of all, with the man himself . . . who really deserves all the success he's had and more. I'm proud of him and glad that he's a superstar. It's one of the best and most enjoyable books I've read.
Rating: Summary: A great book and a 'must have' for fans... Review: I can't really add anything here that hasn't been said already by the rest of the reviews that came before mine. I will say that this was a very enjoyable book and that it isn't sugar coated--there are many things in here about Jackie Chan's past that may surprise you. A very enjoyable read.
Rating: Summary: five stars is not enough! Review: I wish I could give this book ten stars. I'm not even a big Jackie Chan fan. I've seen a few of his new movies and enjoy them. I've been into reading biographies and since my husband is a big fan of Jackie Chan, I thought I'd give it a try. Well, it is one of the best books I've read. My favorite aspect of the book is Jackie's relationship with Samo Hung. In the beginning, they have a bully/victim relationship. Then slowly, they gain mutual respect for each other...which eventually leads to friendship and a great working relationship. I think it's very inspiring because it shows how the people we "hate" today might be our best friends one day. I was really surprised how their relationship turned out. I didn't expect them to become friends, I thought Jackie Chan was just venting about this annoying guy from his childhood and that the character would be dropped as soon as he left the opera school. Then when it seemed like the bully was actually staying in the book and getting a career of his own, I asked my husband if he had ever head of him. My husband said "Yeah, that's the guy from Martial Law." I was shocked!
Rating: Summary: Impossible to put down Review: This is probably the best book I have ever read. It tells us the story of Jackie's life. From being thrown into the garbage room by his father as a boy to his forst love, this book covers all angles of Jackie's life from a first persone perspective. Buy this book right now, you won't regret it.
Rating: Summary: Phenomenal Review: Rarely is a biography able to authentically capture the experiences of a man's life as well as I Am Jackie Chan is able too. From start to finish, it accurately describes Jackie's beginnings, from his youth, to his education, to his rise to fame. From his Relationships, to his gambling problems, to his fame-filled life in the end, the book is an amazing read. Along with giving the reader an insight into Jackie Chan's personality and life, it also gives an amazing look at Sammo Hung, fellow famous martial artist and director. Along with overviews of all his films, his best fights and his best stunts, this is the must-have book for Jackie Chan fans.
Rating: Summary: GREAT GIFT And BOOk Review: This is a great book. Great writer! You won't be able to put it down. Great for anyone even if they don't know who Jackie Chan is. It reads smoothly from one page to the next. My husband, myself, and our 10 year old son has read it. It was worth the money and more. It is wrote like a story not a bio. I don't know what else to say except it is one of those books you should buy and read. You won't be disappointed. Peace.
Rating: Summary: This book is terrific! Review: While Jackie Chan has lived a life that most Americans would hardly recognize, much less identify with, his life's story is immediately recognizable as a chronicle of triumph over adversity. I most enjoyed his pervasive sense of humor, his candor, and his self-deprecating attitude. I've always liked his movies, and now I'll like them all the more since I know what it was like for him to become the man he is.
Rating: Summary: Wow Review: i love this book a lot. i have to wash my hands in order to touch it. very well written and u can find out anything about jackie chan including, info bout his life, movies, top stunts, top fights, his injuries, memories, and a lot more. highly recommeneded whatever the price tag says.
Rating: Summary: Delightful autobiography of one of the best actors. Review: This is definitive one of the most entertaining autobiographies I have read. You get to see Jackie move from a poor family to a screen success and he deserves so much in life considering the difficulties he has to undergo. This book is light reading but delightful. I suggest reading this one without too much expectations of its literary qualities. Enjoy and keep kicking, Jackie!
