Summary: not very griping
Review: This is the second book of Sue Grafton's I have read. While i realize not every one can be as suspenceful as the other i was a bit disappointed. Without giving the book away the ending sort of left me feeling unfinished. Almost like i should have been looking for a second book. I found Kinsey Malone not as light-hearted in this one more like timid and bored with her life. Sometimes there was pages spent on trival matters and not enough on larger issues. But Sue still remains a common name in my book case this one just didnt hit the mark for me.

Summary: No one is perfect.
Review: This may prove to be one of the better entries in the Millhone series. Any self respecting, competent P.I. in real life will probably tell you that they probably won't always find all the answers in every case they take. Though they probably find out most of the answers most of the time. Millhone didn't find all the answers she needed on this case. And it isn't necessarily clear how she figured out who the killer was. It isn't even clear how she figured out who he was in cahots with. But she thought enough of herself to do something about it. Not everyone will like that but there it is.

Enjoy the book, then go on to the next one.

Summary: Who Killed Lorna? Kinsey Will Have to Find Answers!
Review: This was a great book and I found it hard to put down. The question throughout the whole story here was, "Who caused Lorna's death?" Lorna's mom hired Kinsey to dig up the dirt and find out, and as Kinsey searches further, the answer becomes clear. But not before this mystery killer kills other people too.
Was it Lorna's dad, or one of her 3 remaining sisters? Or could it have been Roger?

You'll have to read the book to find out, but foul play is definitely in the works!

Summary: K is for killer...
Review: Well, if anything this was a decently written story, with good dialect and character detail. However, this story felt like it was going around in circles without any indication of ever ending. Grafton seems to have an idea of where she wants to go with this story but never really gets there.

The story starts off with PI Kinsey Milhone in her office at night when she hears a knock on her door. She opens it to find Janice Kepler, mother of Lorna Kepler standing before her with the tale of her daughter's mysterious death. Not only this, but she also explains to Kinsey about how no one ever solved the murder because Lorna's body was left to decompose for ten months in her isolated cabin house. They talk for a while about the strange circumstances surrounding her daughter's death until Janice tells Kinsey about a pornographic video that was sent to her house after Lorna's death. This tape leads Kinsey on a wild goose chase of suspects in the red light district and gets her nowhere when it comes to turning over the real murderer.

Millhone dives even further and searches through the world of Lorna's day job where she uncovers a mysterious lead about an expensive, elaborate project which is angering several people a considerable amount. Kinsey also checks up on Lorna's family members, and with the exception of Janice, all seem to have a motive to murder her Lorna.

Not being a fan of these types of novels, I decided to at least give it a chance but this story got me nowhere. By the middle of the novel I wanted to give up and skip to the end of the story, but when I got to the end I had to go back to the middle to figure out how everything ended. I stopped caring about the whole murder after so much more emphasis was placed on so much side stories and it seemed like Grafton did too. The ending left me with a strange feeling and I didn't know if the book had actually ended. All in all, it was just not the right kind of book for me but if you're a murder mystery fan, try any other of Grafton's alphabet themed novels besides this one.

Summary: No Good No Good
Review: While I thoroughly enjoy the Kinsey Millhone series I was extremely disappointed with this book. The mystery was slow and low on suspense. I found myself skimming pages just to get to the end. The plot was thin and the wrap up was very, very weak with no explanation of the killer's motives. All around it was a big disappointment in an otherwise excellent series.

Summary: Better than "J"
Review: While not the best in the series, a big improvement over "J" is for Judgement (the weakest in the series, so far). Did Sue Grafton actually write that one??? "K" is for Killer brings back the Kinsey Millhone of the earlier books. The only thing I didn't like about this book was the ending, but overall a good read. Looking forward to reading "L" is for Lawless now.
