Summary: Deeply Dissapointed...
Review: I was so excited to finally read a Mary Higgins Clark novel. I had heard wonderful things so I bought this novel with high hopes and was deeply, deeply dissapointed.

The plot was dull. The love story was not romantic. There was no suspense. I am easy to scare yet this book didn't arouse any fright. The mystery was entirely too easy to figure out. I actually was laughing towards the end of the book because it was so bad. I couldn't believe I had spent money on this dull novel.

Seriously, don't waste your time or your money. Maybe Clark has some other great books, but this one was not one of the good ones. Too bad I read this one first. Now Clark is ruined for me. I doubt I'll try this author again.

Summary: Fair to middlin'
Review: I was surprised to find the "occult" as well as "accepted adultery" in this Clark novel. It was not as captivating as most of her novels. It did have a surprising ending.

Summary: Stillwatch is proof of Clark's amazing knack for suspense!
Review: I was vacationing in Florida when i read Stillwatch, and i would often resist the urge to go swimming, only because i was completely captivated by this terrific novel. I was caught up in Clark's world of intrigue, romance, and especially SUSPENSE!!! By the time i reached the last few pages, my hands were shaking!! Stillwatch is packed with spine chilling thrills as well as an interesting description of the Georgetown setting. Definitely one of Clark's best.

Summary: As usual, a great mystery
Review: I've read most of MHC's books and this one is just as wonderful as the rest. However, I didnt enjoy all the political scenes and backgrounds as I dont really like political novels. But the mystery always kept me guessing and never expected it to turn out the way it did. Great Book!

Summary: Betrayal....
Review: It hurts to be betrayed, especially by those people whom you trust most. This is the case for both Patricia/Kerry & yes, even Abigail Jennings. For Patricia, it's her grandmother & aunt/adoptive mom concealing the truth about her parent's relationship. They have the most genuine concern & her interest at heart but hiding the truth & telling something otherwise hurts more. Likewise with Abigail, she may not be an angel nor a saint but she believed (rather chose to believe) lies told to her by her most trusted personnel & that got her into deeper trouble. Again, Toby did (& earnestly believed) what he had to do for Abby's sake (& his as well) but the truest intention when coupled with the wrong means tends to backfire.

I applaud the author's style of molding the characters in the story. Not one individual was 100% evil nor saint. Even our antagonists have a heart. They had the noblest intentions but just got lost somewhere along the way.

This story also awakened a belief taught to me by my mother when I was still a kid & that is 'You'll never succeed if you don't acknowledge where you came from'. Admit it, not everyone is born with a silver spoon in his or her mouth. Most of the time, we have to claw our way up. But we should always remember our past, our beginnings. We should not deny & hide it because we are afraid that we will not be accepted by society if they come to know about our background. Instead, we should make this our inspiration & driving force. & if we do succeed, the more we should acknowledge it to set as an example to others who are still trying to find their way up.

Summary: stillwatch is a really good book.
Review: Pat Traymore, a reporter doing a special program glorifying Senator Jennings, is a young women whose leg was shattered when she was thrown against the fireplace the night her father killed her mother, then committed suicide. She moves back to the house where the murder-suicide occurred to try to uncover her past. While trying to complete the special, a series of odd events endanger Pat's life. The only way she can survive is if she can remember exactly what happened the night her parents died. Who murdered whom? Was it her distant father? Or was it her talented mother? This book is best suited for women ages 12-60. I enjoyed this book greatly because it was a suspenseful murder-mystery. I would give this book a five star rating.
