Rating: Summary: EMBARRASSINGLY FUNNY Review: We've been passing this book around my dorm instead of studying for exams. It is a wild ride. All the guys who read it say "This is the funniest thing I've ever read." All the girls who read it say "What kind of a sick mind could dream this up?" I guess it's a gender thing. But I roared outloud when I read it. It's so outrageous you just can't believe it.
Rating: Summary: WILDLY FUNNY Review: Not for prudes! But truly hilarious. This guy takes on everybody. I'd heard Kaplow as Moe Moskowitz on NPR. But here's Moe with the brakes off! Wow. Fasten your safety-belts, it's going to be a bumpy ride!
Rating: Summary: Surprising Review: This novel is not so much a parody of LJB as much as it's a just a wild free-for-all. A kind of two hundred page rant on books, authors, mysteries, sex, suburbia. It keeps crossing the line into really outrageous bad taste, but that's what makes it so funny. At least for me. And it really was funny.
Rating: Summary: A laff-riot! Review: Kaplow's new gag-fest is his funniest work since "Wooden Babies"! The jokes come non-stop, the plot is absurdly compelling, the sex parts are oddly unerotic, but what the hell -- this book is a winner. Or should be.
Rating: Summary: Fast and Funny! Review: A crazy, surreal book that really made me laugh!
Rating: Summary: UNBELIEVEABLY HILARIOUS !!! Review: READ THIS BOOK BEFORE THE LAWYERS STOP YOU.ROBERT KAPLOW TAKES NO PRISONERS FROM OPRAH TO NORMAN MAILER THE BODY COUNT AND LAUGH COUNT ARE ASTRONMICAL.NOT FOR THE EASILY OFFENDED NOT TO MENTION THOSE WHO ARE HARD TO OFFEND.THIS IS THE MOST OFF THE WALL BOOK OF THE DECADE.
Rating: Summary: Deliciously malicious Review: The phrase "cosy mystery" makes me throw-up, and so I was delighted to read this hilariously malevolent satire. It nails the whole genre brilliantly!
Rating: Summary: Tasteless, but hilarious! Review: This guy is funny--some of this book may make you cringe with its humor, but you've to give it to Kaplow--he's got his literary references down pat and he reminds me of Mel Brooks in print.
Rating: Summary: Not amusing Review: Complete silly and insulting to all fans of cozy mysteries, real writers and plots. This ia a mismash and just not funny.
Rating: Summary: A Major disappointment! Review: As a long time reader of LJB series of "The Cat Who'...books I looked forward to what I hoped would be a humourous parody of the author and her characters. I was wrong! This is an extremely tasteless, even insulting, piece of x-rated garbage. It is completely inappropriate to anyone who enjoys LBJs series. Lillian Jackson Braun has my sympathies that her name is connected with this.....
