Rating: Summary: Twyman is right on the money and - I hope - true. Review: "Emissaries of Light" is a much needed way-shower. Even if the 'secret brotherhood' that Twyman speaks about does not exist, it should! This message comes naturally enough from one of the most ravaged regions in the modern world. Like the recent, and even more incredible, "The Autobiography of Jesus of Nazareth and the Missing years" by Richard G. Patton, this is a timeless story to lift the Spirit - whatever your belief system. Like "The Autobiography...", "Emissary of Light" is a quest to recognise Soul within each of us. It must say something, that so many exceptional books are coming out in this present time? This is a book to be read if you are having any crisis of faith.

Rating: Summary: I was led to this book... Review: As in "The Celestine Prophecy", I am led by coincidences and dreams among other things. Many of the things that happened to Jimmy in "Emissary of Light" are beginning to happen to me. It is wonderful to have the leading of my Spirit confirmed so nicely in this book. We all are being called to be "Emissaries of Light". It is time! Can you feel it? Some call it a "Gathering", some "New Earth", some a "Quickening". We know something is happening. Something BIG! We can sense the changes of our world. There is a charge of anticipation in the air. If you feel these things, get this book. It will enable you to understand what is happening. Also James Redfield's book, "The Secret of Shambhala", will enlighten you of the future new us.

Rating: Summary: Poorly Written New Age Novel Review: Author claims that this is a true story, but really this is an amateurish novel about a mystical community devoted to a bland version of "A Course in Miracles." If you are really into ACIM, you may like this; for others this book is not recommended. One must wonder, if Twyman is so enlightened, why did he attempt to pass this off as a true story? He has publically admitted that the story is loosely based on his travels in Croatia and has suggested that he made up "Teacher" to make the story more interesting.
Rating: Summary: This One Hits Home Review: Emissary of Light offers a perspective on inner peace and tranquility. It is not a unique view for many who believe that God and peace are within each and every person just looking for a way out. But it is yet another way to explain it. The story of how James came upon this realization or I should say how it was shown to him. It starts slow but really takes off after the stage is set. Inexplicably drawn to a conflicted part of the world he met those who try to preserve peace in the world. Not in the way you would normally think but in a spiritual way. By exuding the light of peace through mediation. The lessons on peace, love and life have been heard before but the book drew me in and would not release me for some reason. It was as if I was being told an old lesson in a new way. Is humanity ready for the next step in the evolution of their spirituality? The message of the book is that we are, although I tend to personally doubt that. It speaks to the fact that all religions are man made and speak to the person in a way that they can understand. That it matters not which one you believe in but the fact that you believe in "The Divine Light". That people only see what they allow themselves to see and if it is Jesus or Buddha or Muhammad it makes no difference because it is the "Divine Light" behind the teaches of compassion and love that is what it is all about. I know this will not sit well with many people and this alone will turn them away from the book. But I believe there is a lot to be considered here. I believe this book is a very good book that should be read by those interested in spirituality. And even if you don't agree with what is being said the story of the individual and his travels are interesting in themselves. As he explains what he felt and what he thought. It adds a personal dimension to the book that is interesting.
Rating: Summary: Mmmmmmmm Review: Even if this story is as true as James Redfield's novels, I cherish it. I cherish the inspiring meditations Teacher led Jim through. I cherish the reassurance that perception precedes reality: terror was described in mild and relative terms: terror is a personal perception, not a reality one must accept. I cherish the retreat I experienced when I read this book.

Rating: Summary: Seek Not Peace Here, But Find It Everywhere... Review: I have for quite sometime been a student of A Course In Miracles, but have had little success in applying the lessons into my daily life. I have been searching for something that would place the lessons into a context that I could more easily understand. Emissary Of Light is just that. Although not an intentional guide to "The Course," it does play an integral part in Mr. Twyman's tale, which is told in a most approachable manner. There were many instances where I felt as if the characters within his story; Teacher in particular, were speaking directly to me. With every turn of the page, it was as if I were hearing another cosmic tumbler finally falling into place. "Seek not peace here, but find it everywhere." When the student is ready, the teacher will come. Thank you James Twyman.
Rating: Summary: Captivating, inspiring spiritual adventure story. Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this story of one man's efforts to bring peace to our world. James Twyman proves that one person can make a difference. And he inspires all of us to make a difference wherever we are. His journeys are not over yet and I can hardly wait for his next book (due out in Jan.) about the brotherhood of the Beloved Disciple.
