Rating: Summary: Anyone Who Loves Jesus Christ Will Love This Book Review: Mr. Lucado is a new author to me. This was the first book of his I read...the first of many now that I have discovered the wondrous way he has of communicating about Jesus Christ. As Christians, we listen to the word, and study the bible. We read books about Jesus, and learn about Him from all these sources. But I found new places in my heart touched by this book....the way Mr. Lucado shared about Jesus, I was seeing Him and understanding Him in a new way. There were times I was so filled with joy, I was almost bursting. My heart would be in pain sometimes too. But while experiencing these feelings, I was learning more about who He is, and what He did for us. It left me deeply grateful that I, by God's grace, know who Jesus is. The bible, in 2nd Peter 3:18 tells us to "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ". This beautiful book gave me the opportunity to do that.
Rating: Summary: Great Holy Week Read Review: This book really touched my heart and soul. It is intense... but that is because Jesus loves us so intensly. It gave me a deeper understanding and a new perspective on Jesus' life up to and including his death. I must've been in the right place at the right time for reading this book, but it touched me in a way that few other books (aside from the Bible) ever have.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Book!! Give Thanks To Jesus! Review: This is a fantastic book. It talks about how Jesus went through everything for you and me. If you are ever feeling full of excessive self-confidence or pride, just pick up this book and read what Jesus did for you and me, how he had to suffer because of our sinfulness, and how much he loves us. As at least one other reviewer stated, Mr. Lucado does an excellent job of drawing contemporary stories in parallel with the story of the crucifixion. While you are reading this book, pray and give thanks for all that Jesus has done for us and still does for us today.
Rating: Summary: More than a book, a heart cleanser Review: This is one of the most powerful and intense books of I've ever read. Max Lucado is truly a gifted writer and I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in Christinanity in general, gospel in particular, or to a more serious devotee who is willing to infuse Jesus into day-to-day life. The message this book gives about the supreme sacrifice and the precious gift that is available to us is more than one could imagine. It amazingly fills one with the hope for Easter sundays on every good fridays of life.
