Rating: Summary: Extreme generalities and pop psych w/ no data to back it up Review: The fact that this guy could actually write that you should never marry someone who was sexually abused, an well as his long list of vague generalizations, shows his psychological credentials and abilities are highly questionable. He never mentions that one might recover from such abuse trauma through therapy, though it is extremely well documented. I found some parts of this book useful, but most of it insulting.
Rating: Summary: Not all theories have graphs Review: This book is life-changing. Maybe Dr. Leman's theories aren't backed by numerical data, but let's not forget--not all data can be gauged in graphs or contained in charts. In fact, Leman's opinions are backed by something more solid than statistics: his wealth of experience with the human condition. He has counseled virtually thousands of couples and thus lays claim to a vast understanding of personality types as well as the institution of marriage. Leman didn't write this book with the intent to impress some doctorate-seeking skeptic. He wrote it to help his readers use psychology to find marital bliss. It shows.
