Summary: Stick to it in the begining and it will be easier...
Review: I have to admit that the begining of the book was very rough! It was really tough to remember the minor characters (since the author threw so many names) but it's really worth the time if you take time to remember who is who. I was very dissapointed with the dull background informations but the action really drew my attention away from the minor details which I like to read. Very graphic and intense book!

Summary: Not My Cup of Tea
Review: I may be the one guy out there that does not like his books. What makes me mad is that I have heard so much good press I was excited about this book. There are a number of reviews here that sum up the story so I will not go down that road again. I find the writing wooden and he just does not hold my attention. It takes a lot of time (or it seams that way) to get through this book. I do not know what slowed me down more, the disjointed writing or the plot that seamed to just be thrown together. I did not believe the characters; they just were not well developed. I only made it about half way into the book. Maybe I just have a mental block with him.

Review: i thought that it was a bad book because i could not follow the beginning so i never go into the book. If the Author would have drawn me into the plot earlier then i would have liked it.

Summary: Top-of-the-line action
Review: If there is one Archer book that can be called his best, it must be Kane & Abel. But if asked for another, then it must be this. Honor Among Thieves is a true international thriller. No doubt, it became an instant international bestseller.

Saddam Hussain pays a hundred million dollars to a New York businessman to arrange for the stealing of the Declaration of Independence from the National Archives is Washington DC. At the same time, a Mossad team is set up to assassinate Saddam. How the Declaration gets stolen and how it is restored is the plot of the story.

So much for the plot, but many authors would have found it tough to convert that into a good, readable book. Archer belongs to a class of his own, and one will find that the action in this book is gripping - so much that one will be compelled to finish this book in one sitting, which was the case with me!

A truly great book!

Summary: Very Gripping
Review: In the beginning it is a little confusing but once you get to the middle of the book then theres no way you will put it down. Its got all the necessary items for a successful novel i.e. suspense, romance. I thoroughly enjoyed it!!

Summary: An easy book to read
Review: In this book you can see how all the spies agencies of all the world know almost everything of each other, sometimes they want to work together and sometimes they have to work together, but many times they have to work alone.
The book keeps you reading all the time but the end is not so good.

Summary: Jeffrey Archer Hits Gold
Review: Jeffrey Archer hits gold on this book. It is exteremly well written. I wasn't able to put the book down. I have read this one so many times, I had to get a new copy. It left me wondering until the very end.

Summary: He's had better
Review: Jeffrey Archer is by far the best storyteller I have read in this generation, but this book is sub-par in comparison to his other novels. A Matter of Honor blows it away in comparison of action thrillers. If someone is interested in reading a story with a comprable plot, they should read Tom Clancy's Debt of Honor, in which the American government and economy plays victim to a non-violent and yet devastating form of terrorism. Clancy, contrary to Archer in this specific novel, gives a story of economic sabotage that is so detailed and original, it will leave you in awe, especially as Clancy connects the various characters in an intrinsic web. Back to Archer and Honor Among Thieves, it was an enjoyable read, but as far as this being great for first time readers, NO WAY! Pick up Cane and Abel, or A Twist in the Tale, his collection of short stories, so you can first see what a marvelous storyteller he is. I especially recommend A Matter of Honor for the action/thriller genre. As for Archer fans, you'll know it's not his best but an enjoyable quick read none the less!
