Summary: OK
Review: The plot is great! Drax is a good villian and the whole Moonraker scheme is brilliant! I think Gala is one of the better Bond girls in the book series but this book is missing action! The beginning of the book when Bond is trying to find out how Drax cheats at cards is Fleming at his best! The middle of the book is good because of Fleming's great writing skills but it lacks action that the other books have. The third part of the book when Bond is trying to stop Drax from launching the Moonraker is great! The book is highly recommended but its not action-packed liek the others.

Summary: Nothing Like The Movie!! Lots Of Action!! Great Plot!!
Review: Ok, you probably know by now(after reading all the other reviews) that the book is nothing like the movie. It's true, they are completely different. I don't see how the movie is related to the book at all, except the bad guys name is Drax, and the good guys name is James Bond. Seriously, there is no Dr. Goodhead in the book, bond doesn't go into space, there's no Jaws(oh well), and most importantly, Moonraker is a Nuclear missile in the book, unlike the movie where it's a space ship. The movie is retarted and cheesy. Please don't let that make you stay away from this book. Here's my review:

Unlike all the other Bond books, this one doesn't take a while to get goin'. For that reason, I reccomend it to anyone, not just bond fans. It has a really interesting plot being that it was written right after the end of World War 2.(I don't want to give it away, even though other reviewers already have)
It starts off with a great card game(brings back great memories of the first bond book, Casino Royale, read my review!)and you can sense the thickening plot as it...uh...thickens? At any rate, it is action packed and has a great...I repeat, GREAT plot.
It really opens your eyes to the cold war and what could have happened(it has a much more realistic plot then the movie)
Now, you might wonder why I only gave it 4 stars... Unlike most bond books, It has a great beginning, but, UNLIKE most bond books, it has a boring ending. Most Bond Books end with a great action scene, not moonraker. The whole last chapter, Drax(the bad guy) is, uh... done with (don't want to spoil it for those who havent read it) and there's this whole long chapter that seems to be leading up to something and then all of a sudden, the book ends, and your like, okay? But, that, in no way, shape, or form gives you permission to NOT read this book. It is great the entire time, it just should have ended with the 24th chapter, instead of the 25th chapter,...that's all. So, all in all,it is a great book, I just can't figure out why Fleming added that last chapter, you'll see what I mean when (notice i said "when" not "if")you read the book.

Summary: Don't Judge a Book by it's Movie
Review: Although Moonraker the film was virtually beaten to death by critics, Ian Fleming's third novel is quite a piece of literature. Fleming's style is generally one of slowness, minor events are described in great detail, such as golf games or meals and this is true in most (if not all) of his novels. But that techinque is so rare today that many attentive readers end up praising it. As for this particular book, it is excellent. But it is also very different then the movie portrayed it to be. It fact, the differences were so durastic that another author re-wrote the novel a number of years after the release of the picture. So make no mistake when you buy a copy of this treasure, go not for the movie-adapted version, but for Fleming's. This is a difference between aluminum foil and diamonds. And don't worry, all of your favorites are still there, Drax, Jaws, and of course, Mr. Bond. So, if you are a perspective buyer all I can tell you is...ENJOY!

Summary: Moonracker
Review: You must be thinking, "Bond is cool but not in books" well your wrong. Ian Fleming`s Moonracker is a fiction/crime book in which will you read it and you will do lots of predictions during the book. Like in all of James Bond's stories he has missions in lots of countries and he will face lot's of eneyms. Like always he will have a "Bond Girl" she is the woman who will help Bond during the mission. The ex-Nazi Sir Hugo Drax, elaborates a nuclear rocket called MOONRACKER to destroy England. He is planing this attack against England because England defeated Germany in the Second World War. The first part of the book is about Drax cheating in a card game. M, Bond's boss tells him to investigate why dose Drax cheat in those card games. The second part of the book is which Bond and Gala Brand discover the evil plan against England. Actually Gala discovers, and saves Bond time. The most exiting part of this book was certainly the part when Bond makes an extraordinary enter inside Drax silo.

I think you should read this book because it's not complicated, It relays a lot on Bond's thoughts and Galas to. Ian Flening described the scenery the character personality perfectly. I have read 2 James Bond books so far, "Dr. No" and this one so far. Moonracker is I think more suspenseful and there is a lot more trouble for Bond. So that means I preferred Moonracker. The book is more is fantastic I'd say and who reads this book will definantly see that Bond is fantastic both in the movies and in books.

Summary: One of the best, if not THE best.
Review: I have to admit that I just couldn't put this book down. Every single page is intriguing and suspenseful, and contains an elaborate plot where ex-Nazi Sir Hugo Drax, head of the Moonraker nuclear missile project, is secretly planning to destroy London to gain revenge for his country's defeat in World War 2. Moonraker is rather like two books in one: the first part of the story centers on a card game at an exclusive gambling club, where 'M' has called Bond to investigate the suspicion of Drax cheating. In a brilliant sequence, Bond discovers Drax's ruse. This sets the stage for the second part, where 007 goes to Dover and finds out the terrifying secret about Drax and Moonraker.... Ian Fleming provides some intriguing touches looking into Bond's thoughts about his job, not to mention making Drax look like a grotesquely evil figure, and the Bond girl Gala Brand is impressive in that she plays a key part in discovering Drax's evil scheme, but she never really falls in love with Bond - rather an anomaly. In summary, Moonraker is a classic James Bond thriller from Mr. Fleming and is every bit as good as the film of the same name. (Interesting point: in the book Fleming compares Drax as a Lonsdale-type, in the film Drax is played by actor Michael Lonsdale. Coincidence?)

Summary: Bond is human
Review: This was the first Bond novel I've ever read. The most shocking (and the most pleasant) thing I got out of this book: Bond is human. There are many moments, especially in the earlier chapters, where we actually get to experience the everyday doubts that plague this man, such as his own mortality (will he actually live to see 40?). The professional relationship between 007 and M is also revealed in ways that the movies never can, such as Bond recalling that M doesn't like to hear "ummmms" or pauses of any kind when listening to a report.

Besides those points, everything else was rather straightforward/standard. We have the flamboyant villain, and the villain gives his villifying speech before leaving the room (to give Bond and his girl time to escape, what else?). There certainly seemed like there was more blood and pain in this book than the movie, which was refreshing -- high-stakes spying, after all, is most likely a business that leaves one shaken, not stirred.
