Summary: It was an excellent, suspense book that kept me reading.
Review: This was great. I think that it would make an excellent movie and should be considered. It is one of my all-time favorites.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Exciting plot, yet not too well-written and realistic
Review: Overall, the book is an interesting read because the plot is well laid out and exciting; however, as someone with a profound interest in Asian politics the plot is really quite unrealistic. In addition, the literary style is a litte weak; certain words and phrases are repeated more than twenty times in the book. Again, not a bad bedside reading material.

Summary: this was an awesome book, can't wait to read hms unseen
Review: this book was so good, even better than the already excellent nimitz class. if robinson keeps improving on his books like this one, then i can't wait to read hms unseen.

Summary: My first read by Patrick Robinson but more to come.
Review: I was impressed by Kilo Class as my first military based book. The story line was totally believeable and problably has already occured in the world without public knowledge. The cast of characters is many but a list at the beginning of the book kept me on track.

Summary: Dynamite Sequel to "Nimitz Class"
Review: I've read a lot of the negative reviews about Robinson's sequel to "Nimitz Class" and I must disagree with all of these self-proclaimed "experts" on U.S. naval warfare. This book was fast paced and extremely entertaining. If all of the techno-thrillers were totally accurate, then there would not be a need for the intellegence community. This book is plain entertainment. Like all literature of this sort, it creates a believable yet totally theoretical scenario. Patrick Robinson is a very creative author. I can't wait for #3!

Summary: Enjoyable, if you skip large sections of the story.
Review: The cover denotes him as the next Tom Clancy. In my opinion, Tom need not worry. This book has a wonderful storyline that could be developed. However, we are forced to read excruciating details about the commander's wife (who is only a secondary character) and a North Pole undersea crossing. Mr. Robinson then only devotes a couple of pages to hunting down and destroying two Soviet-built submarines. The book is full of finite details of things which do not move the story along and comes up short on the areas which are exciting and relevant. Finally, the plot is very contrived and the story seems to revolve around luck (like being in a sailboat in an antartic region and seeing a submarine periscope where nothing exists and nobody ever goes but our heros happen to depart their path to Australia and end up here). These sort of happenings are not realistic but seem to be the only way Patrick Robinson could move his story along.

Summary: A reader came from Taiwan
Review: I managed to read about 400+ pages before I decided that it's a waste of my time. That is, if I'm a 12-year-old I'd certainly be excited to read a story about a single US nuclear submarine going around the globe against the whole third-world navy and beat them hands down on every aspect. And despite the title of the book, the only length description on KILO class subs (at least until chapter 13) are how they sunk into the river.

It's still a long way from "The hunt for Red October".

Summary: Real hard to put down.
Review: An overal excellent book. Not bad for his second book. I only problem I had with the book, was the overly detailed account of transversing the north pole. I wish he could have allowed more room for the story to develop more around the Kerugelen Islands.

Summary: Wonderful!! Absolutely Wonderful!! A must read book!!!!!!!
Review: This book was great. I read it on a long plane trip and we had arrived before I knew it. I can't wait until I read H.M.S. Unseen. I also read Nimitz Class, which didn't have as many submarines and adventures in it as there were in Kilo Class. Again a must read book!!!!

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: A good book but not a great one.
Review: This book is somewhat reminiscent of Tom Clancy's writings. However, I think Mr. Robinson has a ways to go before he reaches Mr. Clancy's level. For one thing, the book was too long with, I thought, too much space devoted to the superflous. The ending was so abrupt it makes the reader think that the writer was limited to a certain number of pages and had to stop at that point regardless of whether or not the story was finished. I may go on to read Mr. Robinson's earlier "NIMITZ CLASS" and his forthcoming "HMS UNSEEN", but only if I am really hard up for reading material.
