Summary: Essential Reading for the Leaders of the New Millenium
Review: Leadership is all about actions and not positions. This book gives some inspiring insights about leadership principles. Sometime ago I read a book on management thoughts from the great Hindu epic - The Song of God(Bhagawad Gita) of Lord Krishna. Finding the management thinking from the bible is new to me but sounds quite suitable to my thinking and attitude for practice. Very useful book for leaders of the new millenium to build the strengths of self-mastery, action and relationships

Summary: Elementary, 3 page chapters, For NOVICE LEADERS/READERS
Review: I had greater expectaions and was hoping to learn some new theories/thoughts about management, nothing new found in this book. This book could be o.k. for the NOVICE manager/reader. It didn't take much visionary leadership to understand the authors thoughts. Extremely basic, like i.e. "He formed a team" The chapters consist of an average of three (3) pages. I rated this book 1 star,I was surprised there wasn't any pictures? However, the Bible is an excellent source with management dealings, stick with it!

Summary: Thumbs up!
Review: I read once a few years ago, and am reading and translating every chapter every week for our colleagues in church. Highly recommendation is really appreciated. In Korea, we have localized book in the store, but as for me, this is better to read Laurie's own words with feeling.

Summary: UN EXCELENTE LIBRO.

Summary: The real heart of leadership
Review: This book is an outstanding quick read book that can serve to reground any leaders view of the world. Leadership is all about caring, nourishing and fostering and in simple examples we've all heard before it re-enforces leading with good intentions. I've shared this book numerous times to set a tone of leadership that I would want to work for in the future. Why it is not on Harvard's executive reading list is beyond me.

Summary: A great book whether or not you are in leadership.
Review: The chapters are short, to the point, and interesting......with 2-4 thought-provoking questions at the end of each. It is a wonderful book full of humor and thought-provoking messages. I have read chapters to several people, emailed them about the book, and am only on page 50! It is a great book that touches your life!

Summary: contradiction
Review: While I find this book to be very insightful into the way one SHOULD lead their executive and business lives. The fact that Jesus was a leader but only to those who followed his public humiliation, spearing, and crucifixion brings into doubt the potency of his leadership qualities in today's society where contrarians are also left crucified.

While I am a devout Christian, and believe in his leadership for those who followed him, I certainly do not want to be a martyr in my executive or business life. Moreover, Jesus was not on the mission to which Ms. Jones prescribes -- he died for sins, and in that way could not exercise leadership which would allow him to accomplish the mission Ms. Jones prescribes but did allow him to complete his real mission -- singularly and not in a leadership role.

Living as a Christian does not mean that I must be crucified too - Christ did that for me.

In sum, a little impractical in the physical world in which we live.

Regards.

Summary: A valuable tool for translating your faith into practice.
Review: Short, concise chapters, packed with clear examples, vivid imagery and practical application for faithful practice in everyday life. Written for the professional, many of the ideals are relevant to relationships in general. I found it to be a useful resource, something I could read in the early morning and use throughout my day. A powerful meditation piece for christian executives and staff alike to assist them in their evangelism through their work place. I highly recommend this to all professionals who struggle with their leadership skills, with principles in the workplace and with spiritual growth in the face of todays business climate.

Summary: Just the book I was looking for.
Review: I think everyone should have this book regardless of his or her background.

I became a born again Christian last year and have read the Bible 3 times as well as over 16 books and videos on the subject. I now study the Bible for hours everyday because I just get so excited getting to know God. I have never been this excited about anything in my life. I prayed for God to point me in the right direction because I ask him to use me in anyway he wanted so I could become one of his best students. I knew He wanted me to lead others to Him, but I was not sure as to how He was going use me in doing so. I learned to listen and wait and that He will answer when He knows I'm ready. I also learned that the Bible is the only real truth we can count on.

I'm also a business owner and have been for over 16 years in network marketing. I deal with hundreds of people teaching them how to improve their lives. I am always given great inspirational books from people who have taught me, but after being born again, I became very careful as to what is being taught in some of these books.

I picked up Laurie's "Jesus CEO" by accident when in a bookstore. I was looking for another book on management that came highly recommended but I had some bad feelings about it. The information I did know about that book sounded good but when I checked on some of the teachings in it, it was not always in line with what the Bible teaches. But I was willing to get my own copy to read and study it to form my own opinion.

The store manager said he had a copy of this book but he could not find it. While he continued to look for the book, I caught the title "Jesus CEO" out of the side of my eye. At first I continued with the storeowner looking for the book I came in to purchase, but I kept feeling lead to go back and pick up "Jesus CEO". When I did and began to read just some of the chapter headings, I knew right away God lead me to it and tears came to my eyes. I was so excited and told the storeowner I found something better and could not wait to get home to read it.

Ever since I read and studied God's Word the Bible, I knew all the answers anyone could ever ask were there. It takes time. And the study of it will never be completed until Jesus returns. But everyone needs to do this. God has used me to reach some people and they are now reading the bible as well. I was writing things down as I was studying the Bible so I could used it in my training seminars to help people learn how to live and build their own business from home. "Jesus CEO" has been just the book I was looking for. When people wake up and get Jesus' message quickly with "Jesus CEO", it encourages them to go back to their bible to get the whole story. What a great way to witness for Him. God is so Great!!! Jesus was and is the greatest teacher of the entire world if only people would go there first before buying any other books. Sometimes it takes a book like Laurie's to wake people up. If only more businesses were conducted this way. WOW!

I'm so glad the book I went to purchase could not be found. I know God has lead me to Laurie's book and I will use it to lead others as well and I know it will result in them going back to their bibles to get the whole story!!!! For I believe there is only one teacher for how we conduct our lives. Out of all the business books available that I have read over the last 17 years, "Jesus CEO" comes the closest to the Bible and in fact, encourages people who have not read the bible to start reading it. For we all know the truth will set them free as well!!!!

I'm looking forward to reading all of her books and conducting classes based on Jesus' teachings. THANK YOU JESUS CHRIST FOR KEEPING ME IN YOUR DIRECTION. AND THANK YOU LAURIE FOR JOINING JESUS CHRIST' ARMY.

Summary: Reminder of Simplicity and love to freedom!
Review: Soemtimes we get so caught up in the daily struggles that we forget that there are things bigger than us. I am not a religious person, but it made me wonder and think about how much better my life would be if I did not have such heavy loads on my back. This book was recommended to me by a very savvy business individual, and it serves as a great business tool. You should just get the best and leave the rest from this book. Take the time to just immerse yourself in you and really try to better yourself! We are all worth living with a little more peace, aren't we?
