Summary: Delightful
Review: I received this delightful book as a gift from a dear friend. It is one of the most wonderful gifts I have ever received. Ruth Gendler is clearly a most perceptive woman, whose descriptions of the personalities of each of the qualities are beautiful and artistic. What I find a shame is the lack of care in quality shown by the publishers - the book deserves better.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The best little book ever
Review: I truly adore this little book - I give it as a gift (bought 25 copies last year for all sorts of clients and friends), and I have read my own copy until it is as dog eared as a truly loved book can get. So lyrically draws the emotions and qualities that make us all up.

Summary: This book touched a deep chord in me.
Review: I would reccommend this book to anyone. It was beautiful and thought provoking. Each "quality" is presented with such depth that it took on a life of it's own. This poetic wisdom helped me to know myself and my own emotions better. It also gave me insight into other people's actions and motivations. Wonderous.

Summary: Whimsical, lyrical and companiable
Review: My mother bought this book for me as a gift in high school. At the time, I thought, "What an odd, new age-y book..." After I read it, I found myself thinking about Gendler's prose and art whenever I was rushed, or stressed, or depressed, or feeling very quiet. I've had the book for about ten years, and it's the one book whose material my mother and I consistently bring up in our conversations. If you haven't read it, I suggest you do; if you want to buy it without reading it first, very likely you won't regret it.

Summary: Wonderful, it's been passed on to many kindred souls.
Review: Ruth Gendler has the delightful ability to speak and discribe qualities that often seem intangible. Each quality is given flesh and speaks to my whole being with tears and laughter. I have recommended this book to numerous people who have responded with similar emotions. This book speaks to my spiritual being which is ever searching for growth and refreshment.

Summary: My most special book.
Review: This book means a great deal to me. The author, Ruth Gendler is very wise and perceptive. She brings me great joy and comfort everytime I read her magical words. And I feel all the wiser. Do yourself justice by experiencing this eagle eye view of the qualities.

Summary: Wonderful Book!
Review: This delightful little book has been a staple of my personal library since I purchased it during college in 1988, and I have reread it countless times. It embodies both simplicity and complexity, and brings the Qualities to their purest yet most artistic forms. It is a book I keep by my bed to explore again and again. I highly recommend it.

Summary: ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!
Review: This is one of those rare finds i have often heard about and never seen! The words written for the qualities are so few, and yet, so right-on. Why only four stars? I wish it had been longer, alot longer! This is definitely a book to share with someone that you trust -i wouldn't want to ever lose it!

Summary: A Must have
Review: This is such a wonderful book!! Her words bring you to the core of your being. The creativity, simplicity, yet complexity are what makes this one of my all time favorite books. I highly recommend this for every library.

Summary: a gift of a book
Review: what can i say? this is one of the most inspiring, empowering, revealing books i own. it is filled with deep "ah-hah" moments and carefully chosen words and fluid description. it is not preachy or light-hearted, but rather allows each person to find a lesson for themselves by giving depth and color to the words for emotions and feelings. every time i read it, i have new revelations and each time i share it with someone new, they love it as instantly as i did. buy two copies... you'll want to give one to someone as soon as you read the first few pages.
