Summary: Terrific
Review: Without a doubt the funniest novel I have ever read. This book won't change your life or mess with your emotions, but if you could read a book as funny as this one you would live a very long a happy life. I would recommend it to anyone(over the age of 15-harsh language)

Summary: If you liked the movie, you'll love the book!
Review: THE BEST BOOK I EVER READ!! Forrest will capture your heart and steal your soul. Extremely well-written, this book deserves a resounding round of applause. If you are hesitant to buy the book because you've seen the movie, you are completely mistaken. They are nothing alike. An A+ is the only grade I could consider for this literary masterpiece

Summary: From page 1 you will keep on laughing with Forrest Gump
Review: Forrest Gump is a man who has been called a "certified idiot" and in this hilarious novel by Winston Groom, you can see why. The 1994 smash hit movie was based on this book, but this great novel is very different from the movie. The movie is a more dramatic approach to Forrest, while the book is a non-stop laugh-a-thon. From start to finish you will love Forrest and his antics. From his experiences as a "rassler" to his time with NASA in the space program you will not be able to put this one down. Forrest is a man who seems to get himself into more trouble than anyone else. He has caused and been to many historic things but he doesn't see what the big deal is. He is a man who likes to speak his mind. Forrest may be an idiot but he sure can play chess, and he has to or he will be eaten by cannibals! Forrest does get himself into some big disasters that cause big time laughter. Winston Groom should be commended on this magnificient book that everyone will love. Anyone who is looking for a good time and a great read should pick up Forrest Gump. Review by Matt Crandall

Summary: The best movie of the 1990s
Review: Forrest Gump guarantees to be one of the greatest movies you ever see.
Forrest is a simple man who lives by his beliefs, and lives by his mother's advice. He talks of his incredible life while sitting at a bus stop in Alabama, of teaching Elvis new dance moves, of bceoming a war hero in Vietnam, and of meeting several Presidents. At the same time, he recollects about his childhood sweetheart Jenny, who is living a horrible life after being abused as a child.
This is a truly inspirational movie, one of humour and light-hearted fun, while looking back at some of America's biggest moments.
Tom Hanks richly deserved Best Actor, as did the film deserve Best Picture, and Forrest Gump is one of the least-challenged Academy Award decisions in recent memory. This film really can say that it will make you laugh and cry, as well as thoroughly enjoying the best movie of its decade.
Forrest Gump is a must have movie, and is one to watch many times!

Summary: Run, Forrest...RUN!!
Review: Eight years after it's initial release, there has been some backlash, (by a small minority of people) against this movie for various reasons. Reasons ranging from the film's financial success, it's portrayal of the mentally challeged, the "Bubba" (Mykelti Williamson) black "sidekick" character, the portrayal of a paraplegic (Gary Sinese), the revised use of historical events and famous people to fit into the story...etc. The list goes on and on. Overall, everyone generally likes this movie (but some hate to admit it). As things go in cycles, perhaps the small negative backlash will subside and people will admit that they really like this movie again. No need to reiterate the plot. Tom Hanks and director Robert Zemeckis have produced a feel good movie hitting some pivotal points in American history from the 1950's to the mid 1980's, seen through the eyes of the title character. Great special effects, great cast, great acting, great direction, and great script. Great everything! FORREST GUMP deserved all of its accolades and awards. Anyone who needs to feel nostalgic, get a lump in their throat, and wants a short history lesson, should watch this film. One gripe is that there was nothing written about Robin Wright's performance of "Jenny". She was great in this movie. The Special Edition DVD has all the extras. A timeless classic film overall!
Note-- Best piece of subtle filmmaking(with minimal special effects, which the film had loads of): Forrest Gump gets on a bus for new army recruits. In a profile shot, he intoduces himself to the bus driver(a soldier) and the driver yells at him with expletives etc. In the background, the windsheild wipers are going back and forth because it is raining outside. It looks like the bus driver is slobbering as he's yelling at Forrest, but it is the rain water and wipers that's causing the effect. Whether this was an intentional or unintentional shot by the director, it's brilliant and funny nontheless.

Summary: The best
Review: Tom Hanks at his best. A very intelligent comedy and one of the best reviews of 20th century America in a very light hearted way. Fully deservant of the shower of Oscars it received. Must have!

Summary: Life- Changing!
Review: This is the most Life-Changing video I have ever watched. My number one favourite, it follows a mentally challenged man from Alabama in the most crucial decades of the century. What will leave you watching this is Forrest's good heart. He hasn't a clue of the evil in the real world, and lives his life on a gentle breeze. The ending is remarkable! When he is talking at the end under "He and Jenny's tree", I can't help but cry. What is also entertaining is how he tells the people he sits with on the bus-stop's bench his life story. A line my mom and I laugh over is when he almost sounds annoyed as he says," And I met the President of the United States, again" and he rolls his eyes. All in all, Forrest Gump is a must see for *almost* all ages-I don't know, I saw it for the first time when I was seven! If after you see this movie you don't feel an appreciation for life knowing that their are people as gentle, and kind as Forrest Gump, and don't wish to move to a town as charming and rural as 'Greenbo', then, well...Go watch Glitter or Crossroads!

Summary: Life Is Like A Box Of Chocolates
Review: Film: Forrest Gump(1994) 142 Minutes
Actor: Tom Hanks
Actress: Sally Fields, Robin Wright
Director: Robert Zemeckis
Studio: Paramount Pictures
Nominatiions/
Awards Academy Award (AA)

The film was in color and sound was Hi-Fi stereo.

Forrest Gump is an outstanding movie; Tom Hanks and Sally Fields

played excellent rolls. The characters of Forrest Gump and Mrs.

Gump could have only been played by Tom Hanks and Sally Fields.

The movie took place in a small town in Alabama during the 1950'

through the 1980's. The story began with Forrest not being

allowed to attend public school due to an IQ of 75.

His mother convinced the school officials to allow Forrest to

attend public school. Forrest was laughed at and bullies threw

rocks at him. Forrest's only friend, Jenny encourged him to run

as fast as he could. After high school Forrest received a

football scholarship to the University of Alabama where he

excelled carrying the football. After graduating from the

university Forrest joined the Army and was sent to Vietnam

where he had to run for his life. During his tour in Vietnam

Forrest met Bubba and they became best friends. Bubba encouraged

Forrest to go into the shrimping business after he got out of

the Army. Forrest became a wealthy man, however he gave much of

his money away. When Forrest got word his mama was sick he went

home to take care of her. After Mrs. Gump's death Jenny came

back into Forrest's life and they eventually married.

Mrs. Gump would tell Forrest "life is like a box of

chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get", "stupid is as

stupid does", and if God had intended for everyone to be the

same, he would have given everyone braces".

I recommend this movie to everyone. Forrest Gump is rated PG

13; It is the best movie that I have seen.
