Rating: Summary: Reminiscent of Other Morris Books Review: In this book, we get to know Burke Rocklin, Clay's younger brother. We see the chain of events and meet the people who lead him from irresponsible, self-centered youth to mature Christian adult. I especially liked Grace Swenson, the Quaker nurse who cared for Burke as he recovered from wounds sustained in the Civil War. I appreciated her innocent nature, forgiving spirit, and reliance on the Lord in all situations. Though the overall storyline was original, several scenes from this book were very much like scenes from other books by Morris--books in the House of Winslow series. In fact, parts of the trial were almost identical to the trial of Thad Novak, particularly the exchanges between the lawyers. I found this to be disappointing. However, I still consider the book to be worth my time and will look forward to reading other books in this series and by this author.
