Summary: Fantastic, Amazing
Review: This book is by the far the best Evita Peron book. As a huge fan of the life of Eva Peron, I have read all the current books on Evita, and this one is the most imformative. I love all the pictures in this book, and the information is great. This is a must for anyone who loves history, and especially, Eva Peron.

Summary: Didn't like it that much...
Review: This book is written in the tone of a romance novel. Maybe something was lost in the translation, but it just came across to me as a bit sappy. I really believe that the best book about Evita, and I have been studying her life for 10 years now, and have read every book out there about her, is "Evita: The Real Life of Eva Peron."

In my opinion, there have been so many romanticized versions of Evita's life and this book by Dujovenes is just the latest. If you want well-researched and well-written accounts of Evita's life, written in unbaised form, then turn to "Evita: The Real Life of Eva Peron."

Lastly, there is NO evidence that Evita had anything to do with the Nazis. (As the grandson of a man who fled Italy in order to dodge Mussilin's draft, I am very passionate about this topic.) There are rumours, there are stories, there are a lot of "she may haves", but no EVIDENCE. We could all sit around and accuse everyone of having been a Nazi sympathizer, but without any evidence to support our accusations it all just amounts to an unfounded witch trial - which is what people have been trying to do with Evita for years now. They have been trying to degrade her accomplishments by saying that she only got where she did because of her looks, or that she only got where she did because Peron was a dictator (when, in fact, he was ELECTED by overwhelming majority in THREE elections). They've been trying for years to degrade Evita and dehumanize her. They haven't succeeded. This is one "witch" who will not be burnt.

Summary: THE BEST BIOGRAPHY OF EVA PERON AVAILABLE
Review: This book offers a completely unbiased look at one of the most controversial first ladies of the twentieth century. Eva Peron was both adored and despised and many aspects of her life are open to wide speculation. The author never tries to assume one opinion, as most biographers do, but carefully presents each possible version of the events in question. Eva is presented as neither saint or sinner, just a very complex and intense person, and it is completely up to the reader as to how to judge her. This is probably the most well researched and honest biography of Eva Peron available.

Summary: Most balanced & comprehensive biography on Mdme. Eva's life
Review: This is a very good book, considering that it was originally written in Spanish. Artistically written, yet very informative, it gives the reader a deeper look on this enigmatic figure's life. It gives us the details not only on Senora Eva's life but also on the society of Buenos Aires and Argentina before the Dirty War. I reccommend reading Ortiz's book with " Santa Evita " by Tomas Eloy Martinez.

Summary: A Definitive Look at Eva Peron
Review: This is the first book ever to compile all the biographies of the past (noting political bias of authors) and new information. Absolutely the finest assessment of the Perons' years in power in Argentina, the book is balanced, complete, and thorough, an amazing quality since the subject is so complex and so many facts will never be known. Ortiz scrupulously analyzes published information, rumors, gossip and the results of her own investigation and presents it in a logical, clear and fair manner. No one interested in this topic should start with any other book on the subject

Summary: Missed opportunity
Review: This was an extremely disappointing read. The story has such potential, but the writer is over her head, unskilled in even the most basic rules of sentence and paragraph construction. In addition, she has trouble expressing her point of view (nothing wrong with having one, but her writing reveals deep ambivalence rather than clarity of tone).
