Rating: Summary: Dawn Land: A tale of extreme mythic power Review: I picked up Dawn Land when I browsed through my local library, bringing it home to read because the cover looked interesting. However, after the first few pages I found myself transformed into Bruchac's world. I experienced the rare feeling I get with too few books where I can almost feel the authors world with my senses. I belive this is because Bruchac avoided the pitfall some fantasy authors fall into by not treating their characters as real human, day to day people. Even though the setting is hundreds, maybe thousands of years ago in North America, one can easily slide into the landscape which is offered. That and a incredibly rich adventure story make it to my mind an incredible good read! I have also thought some good movie producer should put this Native American tale to film. I would die to see a high quality film of this book.
